Arma3 will likely run exactly the same on both and be limited by your gpu in either scenario.

Than I shall upgrade to a 680! Either that or SLI two 580's from a friend, but than i'd need a new MOBO if they take up too much space for the soundcard.

But then you wouldn't see any improvement in dolphin. See the dilemma?

TLS is the only wii game I have left to complete, so I could live with that. XD

However with dolphin running TLS in lazulis, the temps are in the mid-high 50's each core. So would I be able to go to 4.4+ just for dolphin and be ok? Or is there something i'm missing. You may want to try that, and it will likely help push your cpu further. Just because an overclock isn't completely stable at 100% usage doesn't mean it won't be at 50-60% usage. Worst case you'll crash your system a few times, so it doesn't really hurt to try.

You want him to deliberately run the system with an extremely high unstable overclock? What about data loss?
Not that it matters since no matter how cool he keeps the cpu it is virtually impossible to get a quad core nehalem stable enough to even boot at 4.4GHz without using very dangerous voltages that will brick either the chip or the board in no time.

Wait what!?!? That's one of the riskiest things you can do to your computer short of smashing the hardware with a hammer.
I realize that we are now off topic but running around telling users that it's completely ok to run their systems with an unstable overclock is not something I can stand for. People have corrupted their file system by doing this.

This is confirmed by alot of Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge usersThen why the hell am I not getting perfect 60 fps in SMG2? Sure its 60 fps for the most part, btu sometimes it drops down to 50.
