Hi I've been wanting to build a new computer for a while and with my gfs computer blowing up it gave me the option lol (money justifies her being able to play sims again)

Well anyway this is what i came up with

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...Mgod-CUAMA

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...-_-NA-_-NA

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...-_-NA-_-NA

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814161422 (This will probley change)

What im finding is everyone's pushing the i5 2500k and over clocking it to 4.6ish but since the fx-8350 starts at 4 over clocking it to that point shouldn't be so much a strain on it (never over clocked)

But the main thing im worried about with the i5 is that it is a few years old and don't want to spend all this money and be behind in the game so what im wondering even though its newer will I still be happy with it for dolphin?

Thanks for the help I cant find much on the fx-8350 and dolphin
I5-2500k and i5-3570k is much faster per clock than FX8350.
I actually think the i5-2500k is faster on standard clock than FX8350 is at standard clock.

I guess you must go past 5GHz on the FX8350 to match a 2500k at 4.3Ghz
FX 8350 can't compete with i5 2500k , not even close to
Look at single-threaded benchmark when it comes to Dolphin

If i was you , i would go for these parts :

http://www.microcenter.com/product/38857..._Processor

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813157293

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814130827

Btw , SCII is a dual core app which is same as Dolphin

And
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6835103099 (To push i5 3570k to 4.2GHz or 4.4GHz ; some demanding games like SMG , The Last Story need overclocking )

Note : i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz ≥ i5 2500k @ 4.5GHz
