Been playing for a while now(25 hours :o). No crashes, nice locked 30 fps. Sound was perfect.

However, on recent dev builds HLE music is very broken. The music loops (for about 1 second) continually on the menu screen and there's no music 95% of the time in game.

LLE runs better but still glitchy. Randomly loops on menu screen and randomly cuts out in game.

Nothing game breaking but I thought I'd mention it.
can you find what dev build caused this change? I remember playing it on HLE with zero issues.
OK I've tried going back to previous builds that were working fine for me before and they're doing the same thing now. Music looping on the menu screen.

I am puzzled. The only thing I can think of that might have changed on my system is some background Windows update.

Other games I've tried seem to be unaffected.
I remember this game having looping audio years ago and this should be fixed for a long time. Have you tried using a recent build?

Just double checked with latest (4.0-2071) and I'm getting the same.

I think I'm very near the end of the game now anyway. Thanks for your suggestion.
4.0 - 2194 Fixes the music cutting out and looping - Hoorah!
Well, cool. Thanks for the update.
I forget, is this game locked at 30 FPS or not? I can't tell.

Sadly yes, it is locked at 30fps. However, as much as I want every game ever to run at 60fps minimum, I guess it doesn't matter that much considering the slow pace of the game and the few times precision platforming is necessary.
