I just installed Dolphin 3.0-872-dirty to play my copy of Xenoblade. I've been using a PS2 controller, connected to my computer with a USB adapter -- it works well for PS2 games, the plug-n-play calibration was perfect. I configured it in Dolphin and all the joysticks seemed to work in the config panel. I've set the Port to Standard Controller, and when I try to configure the GCPad, all the buttons light up correctly when pressed.
When I booted up the game and it wouldn't read the controller input -- only the default keyboard commands. It's as if it's just not selecting the controller as the input source.... any ideas?
It's very frustrating! the game is running at 100%...it's just this one tiny obstacle left
Thanks for any help!

Which settings do you need me to post?
To play Xenoblade (and Wii games in general) you have to configurate Emulated Wiimote and not GCPad. GCPad is only for GC games

Does Dolphin let you emulate a "Classic Controller Pro" ? Apparently that's the best controller to use for Xenoblade

Are you sure? I checked some sites and it said to use the classic controller for Xenoblade -- it doesn't use the motion controls.
Yeah but Classic Controller
IS NOT a GC controller. In your Wiimote config you'll find Classic Controller in "Extension". Map it there if necessary

Got it; I'll try this and report back. thanks for the help!
Indeed, for using my GC controller to play Xenoblade you just go choose Wii controller 1 to be emulated, and then configure it the same way you configured the GC controller option.
