Quick, someone remove wireframe, post processing filters, every speed hack, HLE dsp, the ztp hack, widescreen hack, > native IR, and everything else that doesn't accurately emulate what is done by the wii/gc.

Most good emulators have the ability to not display certain things (like fog) if they aren't desired. There are many legitimate uses for this.

Well, glad to know I'm not the only one. To be fair though I think Starscream was just talking about the hacks and not enhancements. It is debatable whether disabling fog is an enhancement or not, but I usually turn it on when taking screenshots especially when they are screenshots where the camera is far away.
Yeah, anyone who knows how to read and reason properly knew exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for understanding, Invader.

I thought the purpose of emulation was to enhance the end user's experience, I mean, of course if you want a to give the most accurate simulation you can do it and some people prefer it however, if the hardware supports it, why not make it better?
People have strange ideas about "the purpose of emulation".

Mind sharing a thought?

You can enhance the users experience without totally destroying how a game was made to work. Enhancements like internal resolutions and Anti-Aliasing improve the image quality greatly, but that's taking the game for what it is and making it look better, it's not ripping out game elements.

So should we get rid of wireframe?
I think that's more of a debugging setting than a playing setting, but yes, if it wasn't helping anyone, and it makes the game miss out important chunks (ie all the textures), then it shouldn't really be there.

Great, glad we agree disable fog should stay.
