so now i can heat my hat?..
why i can't play with quad >??? what the point?? huh?
alot of people have quad CPU and thay can't play the dolphin emulator??
that not good..

They can play with quad core.
Dolphin however is only programmed so far to use two of those cores at most.
There's various reasons for this as can be found by searching the forums.
in the futuer its will be an option to play with quad cpu?

Personally I think it's unlikely simply because there's no big benefit to splitting threads over more than 2 cores.
To quote myself from another thread....

because the general rule is that splitting workload over a lot of cores helps with the execution time. It's just that this approach isn't suitable to EVERYTHING computer related and isn't a viable solution for some software.
Especially emulation software like Dolphin, PCSX2 and Yabause. There are MULTIPLE chips being emulated all at once and the state of each chip has to be monitored in order to ensure proper emulation and that they are running in sync as they would do on a real console.

Not nessecarily better, but it will take up less cpu power on the core it is currently running on. The idea is to have each process that takes up cpu power, Audio, Video, and the Core, and put them on their own core, therefore optimizing the most amount of cpu power because everything has its own core
Problem though is that with each core, you'll have more and more overhead for having to keep the cores in sync which will affect the speed and also quad cores are typically clocked at a slower speed compared to their dual core counterparts.
wait.. i dont get that...
you say the dolphin emu creaters will not make a better version for that emulator so the people have quad will have some fun?

just read through my post, the technical reasons behind why they can't do it are right there.
Please remember that emulation is a lot more complicated than PC games, it involves having to translate a LOT of instructions and data into something your computer can understand and then executing those instructions. PC games just have to execute themselves.
Keep in mind quad core still works ^^ If you have a quad core i bet you have one that is at least 2.6 ghz per core... this is definately enough to run dolphin.. just look in the game discussion forum and look for the game you want... there is a lot of these threads and they will tell you which settings are best! however for better performance turn AA and Filtering options down ^^
Emulating a GameCube over more than two cores would slow down emulation.
I'm using an Intel quad core at 2.83MHz, however, and most games are running at great speed.
