Hi!
I'm trying to play the game on a Core 2 Duo e6850 (3 ghz) and i get sever slowdowns in fights.
So my question is will overclocking it to 3.6 ghz help? If not much i wont buy a new cpu cooler than.
If any1 has experience with this i would appreciate the help
thx

By alot
I could guess 5-10 FPS
Thx! Any1 here whose familiar with these old kinda core 2's willing to help me overlock it?
I'm kinda noobish with these kinda things. Only thing i can do is tinker with jumperfree stuff in bios (by this i mean changing dram freqency and cpu multiplier. wich is locked at 9 so i cant do it that way) but im not sure what to set to get it working.
Have you tried Accurate Vbeam Emulation on properties? it speeds up my game by sum. not sure if this works with everyone Goodluck Cool
yeah i use it. I know how to set it up. I just get cpu limited. In big battles fps drops to 17-20. Only thing what helps me with speed is opencl since it releives the cpu a bit of calculating or whatnot.

Asus Mobo ?
My Gigabyte G41 mobo has "Fine CPU clock Ratio" (+0.5x) .E5300 2.6GHz OC :
_3.4GHz : Keep max "CPU clock Ratio" = 13x , "CPU Frequency" = 262
_3.6GHz : i change "CPU clock Ratio" from 13x to 12x and increase "CPU Frequency" from 262 to 288
I could go even further (3.9GHz) but i choose the safe side -> 3.6GHz (Max temp on full load : 56 degree celsius)
Yep. An old p5k. I have an outdated bios but its something similar to yours. My multiplier is locked between 6 and 9. 9 being 3.0 ghz.
I need to alter fsb freqvency and voltage, but i have no idea how. Hence my asking for help.
To be exact i know how. I just dont know the values and whats safe or not. Thats why i asked if some1 was familiar with these older core 2 duos.
I didnt find anything exact on the web. Just generic stuff. Wich im not risking.

Edit: regarding temps i get around 50 under heavy load degrees with a stock intel cooler (Mind it's now more than 4 years old). My video card on the other hand likes overheatingSad 9800gtx+ OC a badly made oneBig Grin

Temps will go up when you overclock
You can try 333x9 = 3.0GHz then go higher (360x9) until you get 3.6GHz , keep your Vcore under 1.5v
Run Prime95 for 3 hours to test the stability of your system
I know they will get higher. I already chose a cooler. Cheap one,but still:D
Btw I have 4x1gb ddr2 ram and when i try to set the freq to 1066 it wont boot. It works fine with 800.
Question: wont the ram freq. bottleneck the cpu? How can i get it to work with 1066? ( probably the timings are off, but i dont have the case of the rams anymore.)
If i change the fsb freqvency i will have to change the dram voltage and timing as well amiright?

A completely unrelated question if i may. Whats your opinion on windows 8? Performance and accessibility wise.
The difference between 1066MHz and 1600MHz is only 1-2FPS when you use "EFB copies to Ram"
Xenoblade doesn't need "EFB copies to Ram" . Dual channel (2x2) is abit faster than Single Channel(1x4) , maybe 0-1 FPS lol
Meh , Ram doesn't mean anything to Dolphin unless you use "EFB copies to Ram" . You should leave it at 800MHz
Recommend : 2GB Ram for windows x86 and 4GB Ram for windows x64

Good so far , not benefit anything to Dolphin though
