The game natively runs at 30. It still runs much better than it would in pcsx2, though, and the controls work fine if you're using an emulated Wii Remote. (I dunno why, but I found it a lot harder to get things I painted to detect properly when painted with a real remote than when I painted with a mouse.)

How does it run "better"? Better framerate? Bettre FX? Less glitches?
Because lots has changed (for the better) recently with PCSX2, with all the work done on the OpenGL renderer (accurate GFX options).
Does anyone else have trouble doing the power slash on a real wiimote? Half the time, it doesn't register when I draw a perfect horizonal line.
I think the Wii version has better textures than the PS2 version and native widescreen as well.

They still don't have something as basic and commonplace as mipmapping in their hardware renderer. I wouldn't want to defile such a beautiful game on a renderer like theirs.

I've had similar issues trying to draw circles for Bloom. It's like the Wii Remote's IR camera isn't being polled often enough or something... I eventually resorted to just using gamepad + mouse instead since it doesn't seem to have the issue.
The Wii version doesn't necessarily have better textures, just different ones – they had to redo a LOT of stuff from scratch for the Wii port, which is why you get stuff like the full-screen paper effect being less intense and Amaterasu's shadow instantly appearing instead of painting itself in.
I have a problem with Okami in one of the latest nightlys. The double image/blur effect is still present, but i've read that was fixed on previous versions of Dolphin.

Also, when I use the relative input for the wiimote ir to use the brush with gamepad like in PS2, the brush didn't reach all the screen, but only a limited zone. I recorded it to show you:

¿Anyone have the same problems?
i have the same problems, hoping someone has ideal settings to get rid of that double blur effect? dying for that crisp appearance i've seen in some videos from previous versions, probably not going to an older version of dolphin just for this game? I did sort of fix the box issue after messing around with resolutions, it's not perfect but the box is near the borders of the screen
I cannot get the "Rejuvenate" brush to work on the watermill. So basically I can't use the brush and can't progress further in the game. I ensured that Skip EFB Access from CPU is unchecked. And still nothing.
Any suggestions?
Bump:
I have AA off as well and I still can't get the rejuvenation brush to work...

Some of the brushes need efb2ram and efb cpu access. The game renders things on screen and then reads the graphics output in order to determine what you are drawing. So you need to enable cpu efb access and disable efb to texture only. On top of that, anything that changes how things looks could cause the game to fail to detect it properly. Per-Pixel-Lighting, Force Texture Filtering, Force 24-bit Color, AA and AF could cause issues. (and maybe something else that i have overlooked)
There also could be a bug with your graphics driver, or there's a bug in Dolphin's graphics code. Try the other graphics backends, maybe "just" one of them does not work for you.
Last but not least, if you are using the PAL version, i think you want to disable PAL60, as it messes up the game, at least it did for me.
Try messing around with the settings until it works. It would be nice if you find which setting is the issue and report back, so the ini file for the game could be updated.
