masterotaku is right. Foreground objects move smoothly but parallax layers move in a stop-motion pattern, more pronounced on objects further into the background. Also, thanks for the tip on the aspect ratio. I've now set this game to stretch to window size in its ini.

Edit: screenshots updated. I made them with Ishiiruka before, now with the latest official Dolphin build. The automatic aspect ratio is less wrong now, but the moon is still a perfect circle in the second screenshot and not in the first one.
What settings would be required with the latest version of dolphin to get the correct aspect ratio?
It appears that "stretch to window" is the only way to get the game in the correct aspect ratio...
Are you sure you tried the latest? I think it should be fixed there.
I tried 4.0-9103 when I wrote that and it still isn't fixed.  The moon appears laterally compressed.  I think it has to do with the method used for detecting which games are 4:3 as quoted below from the Feb progress report.  Most WW games are 16:9 but not this one so if the code is assuming 16:9 for all WW games, that's where the problem is.

Still, the auto AR feature is pretty cool.  On games like SCII, the intro video now shows up 4:3 until the save file is loaded from the memory card and the game detects the user has set up the game for 16:9.  At that point, it switches to 16:9 like it used to do on the GCN.  It is fringe cases like CTAR that are not quite right yet.

Quote:phire decided this wasn't good enough. While using the Wii U's Virtual Wii, he realized that Nintendo themselves came up with an interesting work-around. Since Widescreen support is consistent across the Wii's emulated platforms, the Wii U can tell which games supported widescreen or not by looking at the System code of a software's GameID. phire realized Dolphin could do the same thing, and made some tweaks to the GameINI system to apply settings across a platform. With this all set up, users no longer have to mess with aspect ratio settings when playing VC titles, something even the Wii cannot do!
As my title says every time I try to load up castlevania the adventure rebirth it goes to a black screen after the intro. I have single core enabled but doesn't seem to help.
Cannot reproduce, is loaded and working fine for me.

Mind postin your settings so I can see if I have anything different?
I'm just using Single Core + EFB2RAM in terms of settings. I don't run anything special otherwise.
Actually you should be posting your settings...
