As stated in the comments and on the wiki page above, there is no know solution to the D3D hit detection.

What is your GPU and graphics drivers?

Ah. Wasn't sure if that was supposed to be fixed in the latest release or not, my bad.

I'm running an Intel® HD Graphics 400 and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M on Windows 8.1.

I can hit the smiles generally without issue with only minor shot problems, but it's impossible to shoot Kun Lan's hand at the end of the first mission.
Hit detection in D3D seems fixed as of 4.0-2836?
I don't feel my shots are hitting at random parts and I can hit Kun Lan's hand at the end of the first mission.

Can someone confirm?
I don't think 2836 fixed it. It was probably one of the many changes last month.
Well just want to say, at some point in the past couple months, Dolphin has finally made this game flawless with OpenGL. I am able to see all the particle effects functioning identically to the native GameCube version, and hit detection seems to be spot on. I really was quite surprised when I loaded up my ISO after over 3 years of waiting to be able to emulate it properly, and the day has finally come. Game can probably be set to 5 stars at this point, at least for OGL. Don't know if a requirement for 5* is that it has to work equally in both backends or not.
Have you tried with D3D? What issues are still there?
Yep, D3D works equally to OGL. Just finished testing it. Hit detection, particles, etc all working just fine. Wiki should be updated, at least as of 5496 the game is at a subjective level flawless.

Okay, I see now. The wiki says that anti-aliasing breaks hit detection in D3D. This is still true.
Well, enhancements can break things. That's not an issue.
I can agree with that. Imo we aren't even positive if somehow forcing anti-aliasing on a real GC would or wouldn't cause the same errors. Since it works in OGL, I am skeptical, but it's not a real issue to me either.

Wonkydong

Im not sure if this is a bug or just me being bad, but when i try to shoot kun lan in the hand, absolutely nothing happens
