This game is broken in the latest builds somewhere right after the official 3.5 release. It was still working fine with the official 3.5 but now the game crashes whenever you start a new game.
Settings are
all default
direct9/opengl renderer
DSP LLE
real external framebuffer
It works fine here. Tested with several builds between Dolphin 3.5 and latest ones. No issue
Starting a new game with the newest build has no music or speech. After the explosion, you hear a boom, and the whole game freezes here.
Thanks for letting us know. I'll look into it.

Don't say "right after the official 3.5 release" if your issue is with very latest builds.

I've just tested with 3.5-1255 and you're right. The game hangs during the first cutscene
And now it's fixed for anyone wondering :p
The new Hybrid XFB causes magenta flashes on this game unless you uncheck Store XFB To Texture only.

That should be done automatically in the ini file, I'm going to send a bug so they change it.
I don't recall this happening with earlier versions pf Dolphin, albeit it's been a while. With the Gecko code for widescreen, the centered hud has your VFX gauge spill over to the left. The AR code doesn't do this, but I don't want to use that one as the UI isn't scaled - load/start screens and the HUD is stretched, only the Gecko code properly maintains the UI's aspect ratio but this glitch is annoying.

(Not the pic below is condensed as I just temporarily had it in a window to take the screenshot snippet)
