The fix would decrease performance about 15% - 20% (according to what JMC said recently) in all games, not just ones that need the fix. Besides, the PR with the fix isn't complete, so it can't get merged in its current state.
Ouch that's a huge drop for performance! Oh well one day this game will work in master.

well till then, it seems to be fully playable on that old test build. played through many missions. 100% speed with 80% underclock.
on pcsx2 it's still laggy with graphical glitches.
Oh ho Staaaaar Waaaaaars, nothing but Starrrr Waaaarrrrsss. How about those Starrr Warrrssss? I don't remember the rest of the words but I digress. You guys are all awesome, I know it booted in the branch but to have it in Master, finally after all these years every GC game I had now works in Dolphin! Sweet merciful Christ what a day!
The day has finally come! Clone Wars works on master! No need to have the old PR build anymore!!
really? cool, will have to try it again
Time to work on a HD Texture for this game!

Sweet, do it! How do you do your texturing now anyway? I recall you upscaled and sharpened up textures of things like ships for example. Is there any way we can remake them from scratch using the upscaled textures as a sort of tracing paper?
@General Han Solo
I did some HD texture work for the title screen in order to make the
Final GC Game header. This game definitely takes it easy when it comes to celestial objects! The planet in the title screen is literally
just this image of Mercury from NASA, with 10 or 15% (I forget) magenta coloring on it to match the nebula. The nebula was quite a bit harder to find, but
I found it! It's definitely the one, down to the artifacting. unfortunately, it's pretty low resolution... but fortunately it responded really well to filtering, so yay it worked fine!
Anyway, my point is, the celestial objects at least are pretty lazily done, so be sure to try to find them on Google before you put work in remastering them! You might just find a super high resolution photo and not have to.
Oh, and there's nothing that can be done about the stars... they are rendered points. :/
Well, I never up-scaled anything. All game textures were literally HD anyway, running at 1024x1024. It's just that Factor 5 heavily compressed them on the fly, reducing them down to 256x256 in-game, and even lower for LOD models.
So what I did was use the default HD size textures (did some tweaking of them) and applied it to everything, along with the right mipmap stuff, and then the game looked like a brand new crisp experience. The environment textures were HD images (that I then customized) from NASA too.
But as I've been dumping the textures of this game, the maximum resolution textures thus far are literally 256x256. So it's going to take longer to make authentic textures at resolutions of 1024x1024 or above. And the stars are rendered points? That sucks!
