So, I have been trying to run this with the hd textures without stuttering and in OpenGL it almost never stays in 30 fps, it stays mostly between 20 - 25 and it goes even below that when I fullscreen it, in direct3d it stays for a good while in 30 fps and the randomly it starts stuttering for some seconds with fps below 20, and after some time it goes back to 30, JMC47 said that the more you play the less it stutters, maybe that is true I may try to play it for some time in direct3d and wait for it to stabilize.

One thing I noticed when tried to use direct3d9 Tino's build is that when I set it to direct3d9 my dedicated graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GT650m) appears on the adapter section but when I set it to direct3d11 it show my weaker card (intel HD graphics 4000), I try to set it to the nvidia one but I dont seem to have the option, so I thought maybe my dedicated card did not support directx11 and when I checked on the nvidia site I saw that it supports it (and that makes sense since I remeber running a lot of games that used directx11), so there is that, when I use more recent builds the direct3d does the same thing as the direct3d11, it just shows the weaker card, maybe my performance issues are related to that, or maybe not since it runs for a good while with hd textures at 30 fps, I checked the driver for my cards and everything seems fine.

So anyone got any tips?
It doesn't make a difference; even though D3D11 is only showing your Intel card, NVIDIA optimus will detect the computer going into high power and use your graphics card if it's configured right.

Yeah, this actually seems to happen with some other games too, well with my settings I should be able to run it at 30 fps with the hd textures but the stuttering never seems to dissapear, some cutscenes get fps drops and the voices goes slower and audio mess up, then after sometime it goes back to 30 fps.

From what I read from the thread people said that it should not be bad ate OpenGs and and the stuttering should be almost not noticable, I will try more sse if i can get somewhere new still.
Here, Romlaw, have the "if it's configured right" he referred to that'll solve all your problems: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-laptop-performance-guide
Oh didn't knew about all of this pauldacheez, going to try this, now I am pretty optimistic I will manage to run this at a good fps.

Thanks a lot for the help! will edit this post after I am done testing =)

Edit: Tried everything, I am now most sure that performance is not the issue, since the guy in the guide maintained 30 fps with just 2.0 GHz, I get 3.0 GHz and even setting the multiplier for something ridiculous like 33 turbo it does not make a difference, neither seems the settings on the nvidia control panel mattered too. I noticed the build he used was 3.5, but someone wrote here that it runs well but have audio issues, going to try that anyway see if I can not have lag spikes or stuttering.

Hi all,

You all did an amazing job! I love this game, and you folks have made it even better. Please keep up the good work, the progress is absolutely terrific.

I just wanted to ask a quick question: most all of the HD textures are loading up on my build, but the one thing that keeps getting messed up that I'd like to work is the TEXT. All of the text gets garbled, repeated, misplaced... and I have no idea how to get it to work. Any suggestions?

A lot of the 'static' png's also give me issue, but those I can do without.

Again, seriously nice job! Any help would be appreciated!
You might have more luck with that question over in that thread: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-hd-retexture-xenoblade-chronicles-hd-texture-pack-v5-1u-may-25-2014
Actually, the first post might even already have all the info you need. Are you using the US version of the game?

I've run into a frustrating rash of frequent periodic lock-ups in this game. I got through the first 4 hours with only one, which could have just been lucky chance, but now they happen so often that the game's pretty unplayable. Basically, after about 2-10 minutes, the game will lock, with a tiny quick audio-loop, and the Windows 7 "Application "Dolphin" has stopped working" window pops up.

I'm running the latest release (4.0-1824 x64), and I've tried quite a few combinations of settings that I can think of in an effort to find something stable. I've tried running in native resolution with zero bells and whistles, OpenGL, turning off Audio completely by selecting None for my Backend, some of the "stable" 4.0 releases, a handful of the other recent ones, etc. I'm sure there's something I'm missing, but I'm running out of things to fiddle with and could use some help.

Intel i5-2500k (overclocked up to 4200), GeForce 560Ti, 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 64. I'd post some of my specific settings that I'm trying to use, but so far literally everything I've tried has resulted in the same crashes. Thanks in advance, open to suggestions here!
oldsandwich, it might be caused by the overclock on your system. Have you tried resetting the system back to stock clocks?

Also, maybe try deleting the contents of the ShaderCache folder.

Two things that I haven't tried yet; I am already filled with renewed hope! Don't have time for a full test tonight, but I'll definitely give that a try tomorrow. Thanks for the quick reply.
