The "max" or most demanding settings you can set in Dolphin (with respect to just Internal Resolution and Anti-Aliasing) would be 4x IR and 4xSSAA. That's equivalent to having your GPU render the game at 8x the Wii's native resolution. Very few GPUs can manage this in a number of games, and fewer can manage with jumping to 5x IR + 4xSSAA or 4xIR + 9xSSAA (using something like Nvidia Inspector). So what does "max" mean? What Internal Resolution? What level of Anti-Aliasing?

Additionally, what is the exact model number of the i5 in that iMac? In all honesty, anything from Sandy Bridge to Haswell at 2.9GHz to 3.3GHz should run this game comfortably (at least on 4.0). The 750M shouldn't have trouble doing 4x IR + some AA, or 3x IR + even more AA.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure of the exact model number. And for me, "max settings" just means 4X IR and some AA, running at full speed. Hopefully the 750M can handle that.

I wonder if the 750M can also play Dragon Age: Origins (another favorite of mine) at max settings.
I'm very sure the 750m can handle 4x IR with no AA (I can with a 550 Ti on 4.0) and I can handle 4x IR and 2x MSAA, any higher gives me a GPU bottleneck. You should be able to go a bit further, but remember that as you increase the IR past your screen resolution (current 21.5 inch iMacs have a 1080p resolution), you'll start to notice less image quality increases. At 1080p, I prefer to stick to 3x IR and 8xMSAA, or 3x IR and 4xSSAA.

Thanks Shonumi. I used to have a gaming laptop, but I didn't use it that much. That had a 780M, but the CPU wasn't as powerful (I think it was like 2.3-3.3 ghz, but since it was quad, it would only get up to 3.1gz). I tend to be more of a desktop guy, and the iMac I have now is 4 years old, so looking to upgrade anyway. I just didnt want to have to get the 27 inch version to get the 780M, that's way too big for my taste.

Yeah, I don't care that much about AA...I think on my laptop, I was running it at full speed at 4X IR, with no AA (or maybe a little AA), and it looked amazing to me.

Hello,

I am trying to use the custom 360 icons found here https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-wii-xenoblade-ntsc-j?pid=171199#pid171199 but no matter what they won't show up. Are they compatible with version 4.0.2? I've tried both a US and PAL (with and without the 30 fps patch) version of the game and no matter what I can't get them to show up. I have load customs textures checked, and the user directory in the main dolphin folder as well. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

They are working for me. Did you run the "rename" program again after you added the button textures to your high res texture folder? You have to rename them the same as all the other high res textures.

I fixed it. I had them in the wrong folder. It needed to be in My Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures\SX4P01 instead of \Dolphin\User\Load\Textures\SX4E01 like the txt file said. I guess that was for an older build or I could have read it wrong. What textures did you have to rename? They all seem to be showing up for me now. Are you talking about the HD pack?
bacause SX4E01 is the NTSC version, yours is PAL

Nope I have both versions, neither would work following the read me file. It was because it was in the wrong folder though. The read me file included that said where to put it, only applied to older versions of Dolphin. Switching to the newer version is where I encountered the issue, with the placement of the folder being different. All textures work perfectly now without renaming anything, both HD textures and 360 icons included, once they were moved to the right directory.
When i play the game. It is having some small hiccups every now and then. Any idea how to fix this problem? My PC can run this game with no problem i7 3770k. Everything is ok just having some hiccups or stuttering every 5 or so seconds.
The stuttering is not solveable, unfortunately. OpenGL reduces it though, and so does running it off an SSD.
