As always, a friendly reminder that we no longer support old builds (and Lectrode's builds were always unofficial too). You're free to use whatever you like, but if it's build like that, you're on your own if you come across any issues.

This i take stability over 1 or 2 fps more any day now, besides the DX9-Final build (https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-testing-needed-dx9-final) im using now is not mutch slower then those ancient builds with vbeam speedhack enabled.

I thought this applied only to the 2D menu textures?
Is it a wider thing that I gave it credit for?

I'm still not far through the game (makna forest), is the HD texture thing a process you can revert? Don't wanna risk fucking up my saves and having to restart the game from zero.
Its just some textures so it won`t have any effect on your savegames or such, i tried it yesterday and it´s mostly the 2d stuff as you said, there are a few face textures and other stuff but i didn`t really notice a huge difference, it also made my game alot more stuttery and doubled the load time but maybe thats cause i was using another 4.0 version the dx9-final version (https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-testing-needed-dx9-final fastest 4.0 version i have found so far) i was using always crashed when i tried to load the game with custom textures enabled.
There's a lot of stuff that's retextured in the HD pack. From faces to fonts, and also the entire User Interface is retextured, making it look awesome. There's also optional textures in there for water in the game, and grassy areas, and even rock textures. So it's not just '2d' stuff only.

Personally I use an official build (4.0-146) for it that still had DX9 in it and never ran into any of the crashing problems that you're describing. Sounds to me that it's that unofficial version that's having issues with it. Performance wise it made no difference either here. Loaded just as fast with and without the texture pack applied.

If you're talking about stuttering, that's because your computer can't run the game at full speed. There are numerous ways to speed up Dolphin; in your case I can suggest a few specific things:
–Use 64-bit Dolphin on a 64-bit Windows installation (this requires reinstalling Windows, but if you're up for it, do it)
–Set up a profile for Dolphin.exe in the Nvidia drivers and change the Power Management Mode from "Adaptive" to "Prefer Maximum Performance"
–Overclock your CPU (the 2600K can easily be overclocked to ~4.5 GHz with a decent cooler)
Thanks for the answer but what do you mean by : "–Use 64-bit Dolphin on a 64-bit Windows installation (this requires reinstalling Windows, but if you're up for it, do it)" ?

Im actually using a 64 bit version of dolphin i think , how can i be sure ?

"–Set up a profile for Dolphin.exe in the Nvidia drivers and change the Power Management Mode from "Adaptive" to "Prefer Maximum Performance""

Where i can do that ?

PS : You say i dont run the game at full speed but i have always 25fps

Thank you and sorry

Your profile says you're using a 32-bit OS so logically you should be using a 32-bit version of Dolphin
Your profile lists you as using "Windows x86"; usually 32-bit Windows is referred to as x86 or x86-32 and 64-bit is referred to as x86-64 or x64. If you're actually running 64-bit Windows, it'll say so in this pane I forget the name of: http://www.askdavetaylor.com/4-blog-pics/windows-vista-control-panels-system-info.png

If you're running 64-bit Windows, you should be able to run the builds listed as "Windows x64" listed here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ If they don't run, you're running 32-bit Windows and will have to use the "Windows x86" builds.

As for the Nvidia thing, quite frankly I've never used it, so you're on your own there. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out, really – just open the Nvidia control panel and... do stuff in there.

If the game's running at full speed but you're getting crackly audio (or some other issue), try using XAudio – it usually works better than DSound.

Sub-Zero

Hey guys I am having an issue with dolphin, it won't utilize my graphics card. I have read the most common suggestions posted here.

My specs:

i7 3770k @ 3.5GHz (overclocking to 4.2 GHz didn't help).
16 GB RAM 1600 MHZ
Graphics card: GTX 680 2GB
OS: W7 ultimate 64 bit.
Dolphin version: 4.0-548.

FYI: I'm running Asmodean's shader from:
DolphinFX - (Shader suite for the OpenGL backend)
Got the PAL version and with 30 fps patch.
Also using the HD textures from this thread. (Same performance with or without textures btw).

IR: Auto (Window Size) = 1920x1080. I've tried 2.5x, 3x, 4x etc same freezing problem.

I've also tried running on Direct3D mode same freezing problem.

Even without the shader I still get the same freezes when in battle when there are more than 4 monsters or a big attack 5-21 fps. I've made sure to put my card on NCP to "maximum performance". And even put AA to max too. Didn't help at all, gpu still on idle..

Let me know if I need to put my settings here, cuz i don't think it will help if I change settings since I've tried pretty much everything ya have suggested already. The best performance i got was putting Audio on framelimit and limit by fps. Still though my gpu is on idle constantly, so only my CPU is being used (I've checked with Nvidia inspector).

Please help me with this, I've been trying for days now and now I'm at my last straw.
Thank for the answer again , i've checked and i'm on windows x64 , so i use the x64 version of dolphin , but my program file is x86 , so its a problem ?

On the dolphin page they say :

"Minor audio pops
With both DSP HLE and DSP LLE, the audio will have minor pops throughout it, most noticibly in the music. It occurs in all audio backends and there is no way around it at this time. Fortunately it is very minor."
