Not really. If they do give you a speed boost, it's most likely due to the fact that those are older builds. No one has demonstrated (with numbers and results, not anecdotes) that ICC compiled builds yield significant performance benefits over Dolphin's official builds. Old builds by Vlad et al will have issues too it they're before the second new-ax-hle merge (3.5-1154 or something to that effect) so HLE audio will be crappy. Anything before the FIFO-BP merge (3.5-10XX, I'm not sure) will have random freezing.
I suggest setting your Framelimit to Auto, uncheck limit by FPS, and for me, the VBeam Speed Hack still makes a difference (might just be a placebo, no harm in trying it). That results in the smoothest gameplay for me.
Alright thank you I'll try that. EDIT:What is the VBeam speed hack?

It is set in the game .ini, right click a game and go to properties to change it
Oh boy, new issue.
Just left Colony 9 after some testing and quests and upon entering Tephra Cave for a second time, the game now randomly stops and starts again, similar to hitting pause and then unpausing.
Game speed is 100% at 3xIR with no other issues (Thanks for the Framelimit tip) at other times. I'll test it with the other areas and see if it's only a problem within that part of the cave.
Is there hard disk activity at the time of the pause? What is the duration of the pause? It might be caused by Dolphin translating the game from a Wii to one that can be played on your PC. My suspicion (based on nothing) says it is graphics related.
Funny thing, it persisted throughout Tephra Cave but as soon as I hit Gaur plain it stopped.
I'm trying to reproduce it now by playing from the start.
Alright got it to appear again, I can confirm that at each pause, the Disk 0 sees a spike in usage. Is this a common problem?
Also got it to appear again in Gaur Plains after the 1st cutscene.
Oh right, duration is just a split second.
That's normal, Otakumegane. Happens for everybody.
Dang so guess I'll have to deal with the pauses then?
Alright gonna go try Dolphin 4.0 on this.
It won't make a difference
Well I have a Nvidia card so I'm just testing out the OpenGL side of things.
