Well i actually meant to quote the person below you but that's irrelevant for the most part.
As for the update, it doesn't mean you need to install IE10 to have it, it's some form of compatibility update.

Anyway that said, you may want to make sure all unnecessary programs are off when you try playing the game, personally it sounds like there is something that is interfering with dolphin's functions, the problem is diagnosing such an issue is a take in itself, took me nearly 3 months to find out the cause on my end, and that was by complete accident.

If you know how to use the event viewer, you can check it and see exactly what is failing, but most people don't know how to use event viewer properly, or what to look for (every computer has a ton of errors on it, alot of which are network connections on the other end, not on your pc, most people cannot tell the difference though).

Basically, if it's not the update, i can only assume something you have installed is causing it.

poklin

So like most people i seem to have some problems with sound, the sound is slightly lagging behind on the main menu is this a problem? if not then cool. other than that i'm just messing around with random sound settings and was just curious what are some things i should try, other than the slight lag i mentioned the sound is pretty decent it just starts to crackle every once in a while. also keep in mind i'm basing this off the main menu.

Well, I once had some issue with something (it was probably the whitcher or something). At the time I found an info over the web and guide for event wiever. Eventually found out, it was skype, after closing it everything worked just fine.

Now back to dolphin issue. Closed firefox, printer apps, defrag app and skype. Result: no hangs, crashes, freezes for 1.5 hours and no noticable fps drops, thx pal, issue fixed xD
Just wondering, is there a hack/option somewhere that kind of mutes the voices and emphasizes music more?

Are you annoyed by Reyn shouting all the time "Hanma Biito da!"? Big Grin

That and the voices seem strangely loud for some reason.

Voices being loud could just a balance issue when they made the game.

Sonic Adventure 2 also suffers from this issue too. It's just the way the game was made.
Quick question, I've been able to get the game running at a very good emulation speed on 3.5-2196 but there is still some choppy frames and some stutter.

Would be better to try out some of the ICC builds like Filthy and Vlad's if I want better performance?

Not really. If they do give you a speed boost, it's most likely due to the fact that those are older builds. No one has demonstrated (with numbers and results, not anecdotes) that ICC compiled builds yield significant performance benefits over Dolphin's official builds. Old builds by Vlad et al will have issues too it they're before the second new-ax-hle merge (3.5-1154 or something to that effect) so HLE audio will be crappy. Anything before the FIFO-BP merge (3.5-10XX, I'm not sure) will have random freezing.

I suggest setting your Framelimit to Auto, uncheck limit by FPS, and for me, the VBeam Speed Hack still makes a difference (might just be a placebo, no harm in trying it). That results in the smoothest gameplay for me.
