Can you post screenshots of your settings? You shouldn't have any trouble running this game. I find that setting the Framelimit to Auto and unchecking the option to Limit by FPS to work the best for me now. I also enabled the VBeam Speed Hack, which seems to eliminate most FPS drops. I haven't had anything below 28 FPS so far, which is the best I've ever been able to run this game. Additionally, VSync is too much for me, at least with my graphic settings, so I leave it off for Xenoblade.

My current version is dolphin 3.5-1692, which i believe is the most current version.

My settings for that version are the default, in the starting area of the game my FPS will sway from 31 to as low as 20. All the boxes in the GameConfig are currently blue (aside from custom projection hack which is completely empty) I did tick the Vbeam box but it made no difference at all.

I'm at a loss, I have no idea what the issue is. Can you tell me what version of dolphin you're using?
You're using Dolphin x86, that's your problem. The x64 is up to 35% faster in my tests.

I made a mistake in a earlier post by saying i was the most up to date version of dolphin which i wasn't. However on this older build (Dolphin-win-x64-v3.5-367.7z) i was able to play the game for a while with no major problems at all aside from a very odd FPS drop to 27 which happened randomly at anytime. However the music started to sound very broken and distorted + game kept freezing/crashing after 10-20 or so minutes.

I am not using x86, I made an error on my profile that i will now fix. To clarify though i have 64 bit windows and have been using x64.

My new problems (low frame rates even on the second loading screen and in game) problem persists on the most recent builds, and exists on build 1155 i believe. It has dropped to even 1 FPS just before the loading screen when you are about to fight some monsters.

3.5 stable build is older (consider 3.5 as 3.5-0001). You can use builds between 3.5-1154 and now (currently 3.5-1692). Just try one of the very latest ones
After testing the most recent build as well as build 1155, I can confirm that the FPS drops are still there and the game is nearly always lagging. I'd rather not risk my CPU in any event.

Are there no other options?
I cannot fathom why your game is lagging honestly unless your running it on a single core or have AA on (your gpu, in fact most gpu's and dolphin itself, do not like AA in dolphin), my cpu is weaker than yours at stock and it runs fine for me at stock as far as i see, the only game i've had to OC my cpu for in dolphin is the last story.

Try turning off all graphics enhancements and run the game at native res and see if it lags, i honestly do not understand what could be causing the lag otherwise.

If you absolutely have to, you can try looking for the xenoblade hle hacked revision (3.0-71), but you'll have a couple of quips that the newer builds fix.

Hi Smile

I have a sound problem with this game : sound is OK during 2 hours of playing and then starts to crackle more and more until it is very un-hearable minutes after. Very annoying when the problem occurs during a cutscene...

The only solution I have is to restart the game every 2 hours. Dodgy

I read a lot about sound problems encoutered with this game but none of the solutions worked. I made many tries : Idle skipping on/off, Vbeam hack on/off, frame limit auto/manual/depending on the audio, HLE/LLE, DSP on a sepratae thread, DirectSound/Xaudio2 and so on...

Conclusion : the problem still remains... Can you please help me ? Huh
Use a recent dolphin version (from https://dolphin-emu.org/).
(there might be SLIGHT spoilers in this)

I have been playing this game (now at 115h), near the end, pretty much everything done... but i just got a gamebreaking issue...

In Alcamoth, (post mechonis), as soon as I enter, the game slow down to about 10fps, even menu...

Using 3.5-1593... tried both HLE, LLE, changing many settings, dx9,11,opengl, checking and unchecking most options...

What is even weirder is that it USED to be fine... even recently... it suddently happened... i ran out, saved, reloaded, hoping it would fix itself... but it did not!!

I have a ATI HD 7880 with i7-3770 and 8gb ram... so no problem running full game at 30fps...

I use the PAL version with 30fps patch and HD texture pack.. tried disabling it as well, didnt fix it...

If anyone wants to try my save file... I dont want to start again after 115hours... I can still go finish the game at least... but would not be able to complete my "near-100% perfect run"...

Here is a zip file of my save folder... 2 copy of the save are in slot 1 and 3... you can simply copy "monado1" over whichever you want to test...

EDIT : After 2 days of messing around, i finally found a solution... my guess is that this was due to a bug with the game more than with the emulator... i went back in alcamoth, killed one a few ennemies (ULTRA slow 10fps), then looted the chests... there were more than 1... after looting them all, speed came back full!! That is BY FAR the most weird bug i have ever seen in the last 30years of gaming! Wink -- I wanted to delete my own post but since i'm new i did not have permission...

I finally solved my sound problems by overclocking my core i5 2500k from 3.3 GHz to 4 Ghz. 30 FPS rockstable now and sound problems are ancient history. I played the game for 5 hours without any problem.
wow LUCKY YOU! Smile

since i fixed my alcamoth issue (2 posts up), the game has been freezing on me every hour or so... music would keep going but picture would completely freeze... tried tweaking settings yet nothing changes... and i doubt my i7 would be too weak...

anyone has any suggestion i can try?? would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks all for your time and have a nice day!!
