I even tried it with forced 60 fps at all times.  The problem could have to do with the Monado particle effects, as it seems worse when using Monado skills, but I don't have a save to test that with atm. Could also just be all the action in the background during that intro fight.

In my testing I didn't attack with Dunban, I let the other 2 attack and I found that it mostly happen when the traitor guy attack the enemy and the enemy parry his attack, it might also be all the particles around that fight or even the things from the background but that would be weird because it still happens with no graphic pack and having 1x internal resolution so don't know...

I'm only in the beginning of the game but from what I can tell it doesn't happen when you start using Shulk, it only happens with Dunban's intro fight. I can't do much testing because I'm currently studying for exams at the moment, it would be nice if more peoples could test this out.

If the issue only happens in the intro fight then this was a success. Awesome job so far mate!

I could really use some help, I love Xenoblade Chronicles, I bought it when it released for my Wii and would love to experience the game again in HD.  I downloaded dolphin, got my stuff all setup and ready to go and have had nothing but issues getting the game to play.  My current issue is the game freezes in cut-scenes, the video will just stop doing anything, the audio continues to play, but the game is essentially frozen until I force kill the game.  I have spent hours google searching recommended configurations, different dolphin builds that are supposed to work best, so far still can't play the darn game without it freezing.  I went ahead and included my settings via the attached pictures, to be fair I have modified the resolution and a number of other settings in an attempt to get the game to work well for me.

My PC is as follows..

Windows 10 Pro
Intel Core i7-6800K 3.40GHz 6 core processor
32GB of RAM
SSD Drives

and I have updated the game with the latest DDS Ultra HD texture pack via the forum here.  I also have been using 3 different versions at the direction of different forum suggestions I ran across, I have the latest stable 5, I read using 4.0-7614 works better so I have that, and the latest from Ishiiruka which I think is 751, also because someone said it works better for Xenoblade.

I am really not sure what to do at this point?  I really hope someone can provide some suggestions or guidance on where I am going wrong, or on what build/configuration I should be using.  Thanks in advance!
Have you tried using a different graphics backend?

Please forgive my ignorance, I am a bit new to Dolphin, I have tried Direct3D, Direct3D 9, Direct3D 11, Direct3D 12, along with OpenGL. The only thing I haven't played with is Vulkan because it was listed as experimental.

Edit: Tried Vulkan out of desperation, ran around for roughly 20 seconds before the game froze and never came back. By froze i mean I was just running around in the game, not in a cutscene or doing anything special.
@Tevaul Does anything different happen when not using the texture pack? Do other games work ok? Have you considered the game file might be at issue?

Good idea, I haven't tried anything else, I think your suggestion is a great one, I will look into that and get back to you!  Thank you very much for the help!

Hi,

Been playing for a while, just reached Valak Mountain and experiencing this issue:

"Game runs flawlessly after shader cache is created but valak mountain just locks up and freezes when you reach the area."

is there a workaround/fix for it? I've searched, but I haven't found anything that works for me so far.

Intel Core 7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz (8 CPUs)

8GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

Windows 10 x64

Using Dolphin 5.0 from https://dolphin-emu.org/download/

Thanks, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Okay, so it was possible to fix it. I redumped the game (didn't have time yesterday), and I did not use the "Draw Distance Patch" on the new .iso. Now the cutscene in Valak Mountain loads for me, gonna play a bit and see if it's stable. Leaving it here in case someone else have the same problem and searches for it.
If anyone has the JP version of Xenoblade and wants to thoroughly test my 60fps JP code AND report back on it, let me know.

Hi, can anyone help me?

I'm about 30hs playing this game in dolphin 5.0-5551, with the 60fps patch working well.

My config is i5 2500k, 8gb ddr3 and gtx 970, so i think i got a good setup to play this game, but i'm having some issues.

In the walk parts along the map, i got no problems but a few random fps drops that doesn't bother me, but in battle, in some parts of the game, i'm having several freezes that doesn't allow me to continue with the game, and obligates me to kill game's task.

**SPOILER ALERT**

now, im close to fight against Leone Telethia in Decayed Forest, and im trying to lvl up a bit before that fight, and when i make a chain attack against regular enemies or use some skill that have high amount of special effects, it freezes in most cases, not always.

That is not the only spot that this happens, i had... hmm, i don't know, like 10 freezes before in other areas.

Exist a solution for this kind of trouble? maybe using another version of Dolphin or something like that. That one that i'm using, online allows me to use DX11 or OpenGL, i tried both but got the same result.

I tried a lot of different setups too, searching in google, but i cant find a solution to fps drop and this freezes.

If anyone could play this game without issues and can share with me the version and configuration that you use, i'll really apreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

PS: if something is bad written or something let me know and i'll found a way to write it better and most legible, english is not my first language.
Do you get the same problems without the 60 FPS hack?
