First you're gonna wanna see if it happens without the HD pack. Some of the maps are pretty big.
It is worth noting that I've noticed stutter/fps drops occasionally even without HD textures sometimes in the map screen.
For settings, I would recommend using only IR scaling and not using Anti-aliasing if you're having FPS issues.. Dolphin has historically done better FPS-wise with IR over AA. Higher IR will basically do the same thing as AA depending on your IR settings and your monitor resolution.

Thanks. Now works fine. It was Anti Aliaising and Anisotropic Filtering. Deactivated both now all ok
so when i enter tephra cave im losing my 3x native render any ideas?
i fixed my problem now got to figure out what setting it was
Heya! So I'm playing this game again to get ready for XBC2, and everything runs fine. But as soon as I entered Tephra Cave, the "fun" began.
Everytime I finish a fight, the game slows down to ~12FPS for 1-2 seconds. When I open the inventory it goes down to ~26FPS, and when opening the map, it even goes down as far as ~4FPS. And unlike the after combat slowdown, it stays there in those cases(in regards to the map slowdown, I noticed that sometimes it doesn't happen for some reason.)
This does not happen with the HD pack enabled. But the thing is, I played through the game on this system before, without any issues whatsoever. In both cases,
I used the HD pack. In both cases I played on 4x resolution without anything else changed from the basic settings. Yet, all of a sudden, I get the abovementioned problem. Note that this was only in Tephra Cave. Colony 9 and Bionis Leg don't have that issue. Meaning stable 30FPS across the board. In battles, inventory as well as on the map.
So far I tried changing just about every setting one at a time without any help. I even put the game speed from 100% to unlimited and guess what? Even though it now runs with 60FPS at twice the speed, the same slowdowns, down to the exact same values still happen. I also tried turning off dual-core support and noticed no difference as well.
So is it safe to say that the HD pack really is the cause for this? And if so, are older versions of the pack even still available? The link to the old packs folder in the HD texture pack thread is dead unfortunately...
Edit: Found the old texture pack, as described
here. Just in case someone also needs an older one.
Nah, Version 7.6 works fine here

By turning off dual core , Dolphin will run in single core mode and that make it worse , not better
Make sure you use latest Dolphin , your profile says 4.0 8xxx , that version is severely outdated and slow
HD texture pack works best on
Ishiiruka . Make sure you have "Prefetch Custom Textures" and "Compile Shaders on startup" enabled

Thanks, but the old version of the pack(7.2) I managed to hunt down fixed the problem. Something inside the newer versions doesn't go to well with my system I guess.
On a side note, I haven't updated the profile yet, sry. I'm using 5.0-1882. Also, turning off dual core, didn't affect the FPS in the slightest. At least not in Tephra Cave.
This is an unusual problem considering that nothing was changed in the areas you are having trouble with since v7.2. Out of curiosity, are you by any chance deleting the old packs before installing a new one? Older packs used the full game ID, like SX4E01. Now it is using the region free name using SX4. If you have both of these folders, then maybe there is some kind of conflict happening?
I remember a long time ago I accidentally included two rock textures with the same name in different folders. One may have been PNG while the other DDS, or maybe they had different dimensions, I can't remember exactly. This caused some weird issues, such as massive lag when viewing this rock. Some places that used this rock texture looked normal, some places it showed up completely black, in other places it was fully transparent. Texture conflicts is the only thing I can think of causing your issue.

Yeah I always deleted the old folders. If there's nothing changed in said areas, then I have no clue what would be causing the problems as well. But with 7.2 the problems are gone(also tried 7.1 which also fixes it.) When in doubt, always blame the system. My weird system for some reason hates 7.6 but loves 7.2. So as mysterious as this whole thing may be, I'm keeping that 7.2 folder close from now on.
Does anyone know if there is a way to reduce HUD size? Is there a smaller HUD size texture option?
Specifically the Chain Meter, Character Faces/Level/HP, and Mini Map take up a lot of screen space when playing in 4K internal on 1080p monitor. Thanks!
