Hmm. What about Misadventures of Tron Bonne? It was the benchmark for tough to emulate PSX games. Even Xebra can't run it right (completable but with tons of lag). I'll have to try it sometime.

Can't say I'm familiar with that game actually. I guess you just have to try it sometime.
I played my entire PSX collection in XEBRA with very little problems and lag and I'm quite shocked that you get lag in XEBRA with your rig, that must be one hell of a game then to emulate.
It's not the specs. It's Xebra. The game has some sort of loading system that loads from the disc frequently throughout gameplay. Cinema scenes, voice overs, even pausing the game. Whenever disc reading is called the game will sit and wait until it finishes loading, but because of bad programming, if the loading happens too quickly, it freaks out and thinks it can't be read. ePSXe and even the PSP emulator both hang during the intro. Xebra gets around this by going at the slowest possible loading speed, which makes the game playable, but any time disc reading is called for (which is freakin everywhere in this game) it takes several seconds for it to engage. Imagine waiting three seconds for it to pause. Or five seconds for an anime character to make one of a dozen snide remarks during gameplay.
Did I mention the game isn't even that good? This is like the epitome of niche titles. Great for emulator testing.
I should have figured it was a crappy game and that only a few have ever heard of it.
I'm not even gonna bother looking it up, not even Google it.
Haha, didn't think anyone else knew about the Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Even among Megaman games, it was pretty obscure and overlooked. As a Megaman fan though, no game is too niche for me

I should try this game in Mednafen sometime.
I've played the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, but got distracted by the other great games that came out on the console.
It wasn't bad as far as I remember. Reminded me of Megaman Legends in a way iirc.
Apparently you can use the GPU plugin GSdx from PCSX2 in ePSXe.
I used the GPU GSdx SSE4 from PCSX2 1.0 in ePSXe 1.8.0 and it's working F'ing great.
You can change settings as Resolution, Renderer, Texture Filter, Dithering, Aspect Ratio, Internal Resolution, Windowed etc.
By using this I get a real authentic PSX experience and it's working really great with ePSXe's internal sound plugin too.
If you ask me, this was the last thing I would ever dream of testing.
After all, the end result is to make the games look as close to the original as possible or am I right?
I haven't tested ePSXe 1.8 yet but it looks really interesting

You haven't tested it yet? Then you have too as soon as possible, you'll not regret it it's a solid release in my book.

It will be done. Recently I focused on Dolphin and on some old games I wanted to play again (Zelda games). But I'll come back to PS1/2 games soon. Been waiting for my new rig
