You do, but it doesn't have to be one from a wii (but you can use it if you want to power it with a wii). Two candles can work as a makeshift one or you can get a wireless one that just uses batteries.
Uh ok, hi, so I have a very specific issue.

I recently bought a third party wiimote with wiimotion plus built in. I am using bluetooth passthrough mode, and that works fine, but there's one issue.
The intro cutscene where you dive onto wuhu island when you boot the game for the first time requires you to point your wiimote at the "go" button.
The problem with that is I don't have a sensor bar, and I'm pretty sure that's the only place in the game where you specifically need the sensor bar.
I've tried selecting the button in different ways but it seems that it requires you to use the sensor bar to point at the button.

Does anyone happen to know a workaround for this?

No, you really do need a sensor bar for this. But you can make a makeshift sensor bar in a few different ways, the most commonly mentioned one being putting two candles where you'd like to have a sensor bar.

Keep in mind that while the game doesn't technically require you to use the sensor bar for the main part of the game, having a sensor bar helps with keeping the motion controls calibrated.

Sensor bar is used in all games that belong to the wii. You can make it yourself or buy it for your computer

Yeah I have heard of the candle trick. I guess I'll try that. Thanks!

There are some Wii games that don't use it, actually. For instance, New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Depending on your location, you can buy a wired USB sensor bar at very low cost.  I have one similar to this one and it works great.  You can power it directly from a USB port in your computer, a USB hub, a USB power adapter, or do like I do and connect it to a USB port in your TV or monitor so that it is only powered when the device is running.
What voltage uses the wii sensor bar?

I just replaced the cable with an usb cable. And has been working fine for like 5 years and counting. Not sure if 5v are enough, but never gave me any problem . And the usb power seems like its always on, so its been on 24/7 for years.

Which I dont know is if I should configure bar light sensor on Dolphin settings or wii menú. Seems they are different And if you change it one place, in the other wont change. Dont know which one Dolphin Will ake as valid.

Hi everyone! (First post woohoo!)  Big Grin

I'm loving the overall experience of Wii Sports Resort in 5.0+ releases, but one graphical glitch is driving me a little nuts...
Already documented here:
    https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/9105
    https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/attachments/5049/bluelines6.PNG

I'm experiencing this "Blue Line" to the left of the wind gauge in archery at 3x and above resolutions on OpenGL, D3D11, & D3D12.
It's not there at 2x or Native; as soon as I enable anti-aliasing on 2x or native it appears, and it appears on 3x, 4x etc.

One of the major benefits of Dolphin over a real Wii is how much better it looks on a 4K TV; 1080P upscales to 4K quite nicely unlike 480P.
For now I have to drop to 720P if I don't want to be distracted by a static vertical cyan bar on the screen... Does anyone know if there may be another workaround for this?  Huh
Did you try enabling vertex rounding?
