Thanks for the responses.

Do you think that as long as I use single core, there won't be any emulations bugs or graphical issues? The reason I'm asking is that I never got around to playing the GC version (only the DC version, which I loved), but I own the GC version in physical form and decided to finally try it. So I was debating whether to play it on the real hardware or on Dolphin, as the latter supports HD, widescreen, etc., but I'd rather my first experience was on the real hardware if the game has any emulation glitches.

So you're able to replace the bgm tracks? Could you please tell me how? I tried looking it up a few years back but nobody knew how, as the audio format used for the background music was largely undocumented. Only the voice tracks were replaceable.
As for the size limitations, aren't Dolphin and backup loaders able to run GC images that are bigger than 1.5 GB?

It depends upon whether Sega changed the formats or not. The voices use ADPCM (but not ADX), while the music uses DSF. Sega is notoriously lazy, so they could very well have used the same DSF tracks in GC but with fewer instruments to make them smaller, or they could have created another PSF offshoot for GC, in which case swapping the BGM would be impossible without reverse engineering both formats to the point where you could convert one into the other.

How do you propose to create a GC image with such a file size? GCRebuilder won't let you, so you'd need a different tool. If one exists, I'd like to know about it. Last I checked, WIT lets you build Wii images, but not GC ones.

In theory, you could use the DC version as a template. If the filenames are the same, you can see which files only exist on disc 1 and which files only exist on disc 2, and that should give you an idea of what needs to go where in GC.
Hey everyone, what are the recommended settings to stop slow downs? I didnt see it in the first post and I cant read through 50 pages and a google search doesnt seem to help.

Im just wondering if it might be my computer as I heard this game runs in the newest dolphin version. I dont even care about the sound, but the majot slow downs are killing me.

Edit: Argh what ever I just did, got worst results ever, 9 fps...I had 15 before. Anyway to reset everything to default?
It's your computer that's causing the slowdown, specifically the CPU. It's probably throttling itself due to thermal constraints and running below 2.56GHz per-core. It's designed to consume less electricity (TDP is a measly 6W) which in turn affects overall CPU performance. It's not strong enough for Dolphin to emulate this game at full-speed.
Ahh, shoot. I actually didnt think it would be my CPU as I play games which I thought would be more demanding...Oh well thank you very much for the quick reply and at least I can stop randomly trying things lol.

Do you think I could play certain games with dolphin or are they are pretty equal when it comes to requirements?
Some games are more demanding than others because they require Dolphin to go through more hoops to properly emulate. Some are "lightweight" like a bunch of 2D WiiWare, or random games like TimeSplitters 2. It just depends on what the game wants from Dolphin.

I see you also made a thread where you briefly discussed the undub you made from the PAL version. https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-can-t-load-a-saved-file-after-region-change

I'm keen to reproduce your work. Did you ever get the undub working in the end? Have you documented the procedure elsewhere, or do it in reference to other resources which you might be able to link me to?

I've so far only been able to find "real" information on undubbing of the NTSC version, but that's not the version I own. I'd love to some day be able to replay this game with German or English text, sourcing the audio from a Japanese copy/

Another (unrelated) question: Does anyone know a way of replacing the music? Because I'd like to play the game with the Dreamcast's version superior music quality.

the GameCube version technically uses the same music and other sounds but the developers just did a poor job with the code conversion, so unfortunately unless your a wiz with sound encoding for the GameCube where stuck with the lackluster port job
I'm having a very odd graphical bug in this game.Almost everything is red in some cases and 2nd pic in others. But everything is normal in all menus,at the start screen and opening movies. But some things have normal color and textures including water.

No other game has any issues, graphically or otherwise.Only D3D11 works on my PC and no other option.I posted in the main thread for this game but received no answer after waiting 2 days so I made this thread.
