I played this game 15 years ago on the Sega Dreamcast and i remember how hard it was to beat it. Then i played it on the gamecube 6 years later and it was much easier to finish it. Now i am playing again and man.... does anyone have any AR code to make this game harder? It is too easy. Maybe i am a better player today than i was in the past or maybe it is because i know a lot more about it now.
The experience i had with this game 15 years ago was remarkable and the difficulty of the original game and its CD quality sound helped big time with it.
On the other hand now i can play it in widescreen, full HD graphics, faster loading time and all the improvements of the gamecube version, but i still have a lot of nostalgia with the dreamcast version. Too bad i sell it years ago... and the emulators for it are horrible slow and broken anyway.
Ok using the widescreen AR code solved the popping textures but it's not full 16:9. It's larger than 4:3 but I still have some black borders on the sides ? I think you said above you have to stretch the image? How do I do that?
Also I see what you mean about Drachma switching between 4:3 and 16:9 after a battle.
I recently got some slowdown for the first time as I was entering Valua for the first time. Also I have no idea how you were able to run LLE. I got instant slow down and stuttering with it on.
As for the clouds I do believe they've been improved over the dreamcast.

If the black borders are
roughly this small, the way I like to remove them is to use the crop option. You won't lose anything important by doing it, because GC/Wii games are designed for TVs that crop off a bit of every edge. It should also be possible to do it by using the stretch to window option, but the aspect ratio will usually be slightly wrong if you do that.
I didn't know that such "crop" feature exist. I think i will start using this from now on. I was stretching the image to fill the entire screen.
Such option doesn't affect the menu, and actually made it bigger by removing the black areas present in the real game.
1st image: Original
2nd: Stretched, non crop
3rd: crop, forcing 16:9
My current setup is IR 2.5x, AA 4x, AF 4X. HLE, XAudio2, Dual core fake-completion, Speed up disk transfer rate OFF, Skip EFB, V-Sync, Crop, Force 16:9.
Make sure to enable "supersampling" or "adaptive multisampling" or your video card or else if you increase the AA on Dolphin, it won't help much. The vegetation on Crescent Isle can become very jagged on "multisampling" mode.
SSAA feature on dolphin is really amazing, but my PC can't handle it without impairing the framerate.

Let me know if you could not find the stretch option on dolphin yet.
Well, your PC is faster than mine, so this is a mystery. Maybe Dolphin build 4.0-7528 which i am using is faster than the latest one?? Sometimes newer builds can be slower when the emulator becomes more accurate, sometimes they become faster with newer optimizations and some code clean ups.
I also missed that sound from the Dreamcast VMU. I remember the first time i listened to it. It took me a few seconds before i figured it out what was going on.

What you really have to miss is the "BZZ ZZT BZZ ZZT" sound every time a random battle is about to start. "It must be time to fight, because my Dreamcast is getting ready to take off!"

Lol, don't tell me. I remember listening to that sound and continue moving my character desperately across the screen trying somehow to avoid another random battle (which were much more frequently). I only had some milliseconds maybe, but i think that one time, i could skip the battle, despite having heard the drive getting ready for the battle. Maybe it was something else.
At least this feature i won't miss. I prefer the lecture Vyse will give you once you put the disk on a CD player.

Aika: "Hey, wait a minute! Whaddya think you're doin'? This is a Dreamcast disc!"
Fina: "There is game data on track 1, so please, don't use this disc in a normal CD player."
Vyse: "We can't save the world from a CD player, so just put us back in the Dreamcast so we can do our job!"
Sooo much better than the drab, "This disc is for use only on Sega Dreamcast," default message that most games have.

I hope someone can help, I get a black screen everytime i get to the same spot in the game.
I have not seen anyone else with this issue, any help is appriciate.
it is really early in game - before you battle alfonzo, bfore you get fina, you get the cutscene with him, he runs, you go down a ladder and when i try to go into the room it is a black screen, but the game isnt frozen and it doesnt stop
someone help please!
Thank you
Are you using dolphin 4.0.2? Try build 4.0-7528 and see if that helps.
