Oh, it seems that enabling Synchronize GPU Thread also fixes that item menu bug, since the game starts now with this option enabled, it's pretty much fixed.
So, i am still playing this game and so far no bugs at all. Framerate at full speed. No glitch sound as well.

However, whenever i open the graphics configuration, even if i don't change any setting, it seems to cause some graphic bug as you may notice in the following screenshots.

first pic: no bug. before i open the graphic config
second pic: bug. i have to close and reopen the game.

Also, when i pause the game, the image quality is worsened. So, do not judge the performance of this game based on these pics as i had to pause it to show what i was talking about. The actual game is MUCH better quality.

You may notice that in the second screenshot the file is jpg instead of png. I converted it because of the 500 kb limit, so i could be able to attach this file here. For unknown reason that screenshot was larger than the first one. I guarantee that the original png image was identical, though.

This is not a big deal. Just make sure to not open this graphic config while playing. If you do, close the game and reopen and don't touch it again. You don't need to touch it, actually,

Back to the pause screen, i find it's a bit ugly this black shadow behind the menus. I don't know if it matches the actual game on the real console. I couldn't find any screen on the internet to compare and i no longer have my gamecube copy with me, nor my old dreamcast copy of the game. I assume it is identical, as i have tested different configurations/backends and i got the same result.
That's because the game requires certain graphical settings and Dolphin overrides your default settings. Unfortunately, if you open the graphics settings, Dolphin cedes control of the graphics settings back to you, which causes these bugs.
Alright, so, the game works about 99.3% on my rig, so yay.

There's two things that mess with me:

1. Print Screen does not screencap >:| [Have to alt+tab then alt+tab again before Print Screen works] (This is minor to irrelevant)
2. This error:

It's nothing fatal-- I just hit "ok" and it goes away.
Pops up every time I go into a shop.
Don't use PrintScreen; Dolphin has its own screenshot function. Go into the hotkeys menu to define the key you want to use for screenshots, and then they will appear in your User/ScreenShots folder.
For the DVD-Plugin error, you look to have a bad dump. Trying ripping the game the game again.
I registered specifically so that I could thank Genesis and of course the Dolphin team !

I had major slowdowns during the first cutscenes and garbage artifacts in the menu after beating the first boss but I am pleased to announce that the game has been running beautifully since using Genesis' settings. Never got to finish SoA on the original dreamcast. Such a great game !

I had some issues with my 360 controller but increasing the deadzone to 25 fixed it. Which controller and deadzone settings are you using?

I see now what people say about the GC version having worse music. Dreamcast version definitely sounds fuller. I am surprised nobody has attempted to rip the music from the dreamscast version if that's even possible but if you can have HD texture packs why not HD sound?  Big Grin

Genesis, you should take a look at FireEmblem Radiant Dawn. Fire Emblem is one of my favorite games on the gamecube and I couldn't get the sequel on the Wii to run properly when I tried a couple of years ago. Maybe you can try working your magic?  Wink
The magic is all with the Dolphin team. Such great emulator. Probably the best one ever. Smile
And i don't have Fire Emblem with me. I think i had never played a tactical role-playing game in my life.

I am still playing Skies of Arcadia BTW. So far more than 20 hours of gameplay.

There are two or three minor bugs i've noticed.

First, whenever Drachma is on your party and just when you win a battle and he says those stuff while the camera is focusing him, the screen will change its aspect from stretch (16:9 monitor) to 4:3, then it will stretch again, then 4:3 and then stretch one more time. This is annoying, but it is a very minor bug and i noticed it happens when you select both the "stretch" option as well "force 16:9" option and use the widescreen AR code. I am not sure if it happens if you select "auto" or "force 4:3" or if you not activate the cheat code, probably not. It only happens with Drachma, which is weird.

Second, the item menu bug is still present and a very similar bug can be seen in the "wanted list" at sailor's island, but only when Vyse is listed there.

This is a very minor graphic corruption and only happens very occasionally. The characters are still very legible for me.

Finally, the map screen at the right corner of the screen sometimes aren't "anti-aliased" and are therefore very "jagged", which happens on diagonal lines mostly. Also, i think the clouds in this game has a very low resolution and setting the IR high doesn't help much, but those are not bug per se.

I also did have a problem with my xbox 360 controller and setting the deadzone to 10 improved things, but not completely. I will change it to 25 to see if it helps. I am relief as I've thought my controller was messed up.

One more thing. HLE sound is almost as taxing in this game as LLE sound. I am still using HLE because i couldn't notice any difference, but i played a large potion of the game using the LLE sound with smooth gameplay and steady framerate, which is incredible for a Pentium 2.6GHz CPU.
Ya the controller thing was really annoying. I was messing with drivers and thinking I was going to have to buy a new controller. Hope that fixes your problem.

Fire Emblem is an amazing game. Do your best to get it. You won''t regret it.

The one thing I have noticed though is texture popping. The textures will pop in and out near the edges of the screen. Have you noticed this and does it happen to you? I wonder if there's a way to fix this. I do have the image file on an SSD drive and I just overclocked my graphics card so I will see if that helps.

You have to deactivate the widescreen hack and use the widescreen AR code instead.
Don't need to overclock your GPU. Your GPU is already faster than mine and i can play it very well.
