With 4.0.2 Now it gets a few seconds into the opening and then the whole program crashes rather than just a simple freeze with audio loops.
I have no idea what is going on
Maybe wait until you have a better computer until you attempt GameCube/Wii emulation. Also, please try to become more computer literate. It's very hard to help someone who fails to even identify their own processor and graphics card. It's no knock against you; everyone has their own focuses of expertise, but, some level of rudimentary knowledge would help a ton in helping figure out what your problem is.
How do I find out what my graphics card and processor are?
Also for 4.0.2 it runs at full speed, music plays fine, everything seems like it will perfectly run but then it just stops. I may try out other Games to see whether or not its indeed my computer, something with the emulator, or just the game itself.

I see what you did there, and now I feel like a dumbass XD
Hi, SOA Legends is my favorite RPG of all time and finally i believe dolphin is already good enough to give him a chance to run this classic.
The game plays fine on my PC: Windows 10 x64 pro, CPU Intel Pentium G620 2.66GHz (it's like an Intel core i3 2nd generation with only one thread per core), GPU radeon HD 7750 1GB video memory, 6GB sistem memory.
Build is 4.0-7409.
However, in some parts the FPS drops significantly (on cutscenes only). For testing purposes I did a save state just after you defeat the first boss in the game. Just a bit later, you have this cutscene where Fina is dreaming. This is where the game FPS will drop to 10 on my PC (i just started the game, so there could be more parts like that).
I did several tests and i had concluded that it doesn't matter much if i set the IR as "auto", "2x" or even "3x". AA, AF, direct3D or open GL, widescreen AR cheat.... all these options don't seem to fix the performance. BTW, dual core option is already unmarked.
So i checked the option "Skip EFB access from CPU" and now i don't have that slowdown on Fina's dream anymore, but i still noticed some slows in other cutscenes, including the game presentation, when it shows Alfonso for the first time (the blond guy) and in the beginning of your game, when the blue rogues attack the Armada ship. I still noticed an improvement with this configuration, though, and for a while, i believe this will not ruin my experience with this game because, albeit not perfect, it seems good enough now.
I am planning on finishing this game with the "Skip EFB access from CPU" checked, but first i'd like to know:
Does anyone know for sure if i will miss some important graphic elements with this configuration in this particular game?
Does anyone has any other tips i can try to improve the performance on this game (so i can uncheck that option again)?
I opened CPUID HWMonitor during the problematic parts and it seems that both my CPU and GPU can still handle a lot more stress, with makes this slowdown a little bit strange.
Games i had already played with superb performance on this very machine, with IR 2x or better, AA, AF, etc: Wind Waker, Mario Kart wii, Twilight Princess (this one i played just a little).
Thanks
I don't know if you'll have other artifacts with that option on, but I suffered through several similar slowdowns during cutscenes. However, I managed to fix them by changing my video card's power profile for Dolphin to prefer maximum performance. I however have a GeForce GTX 780 and haven't used AMD card in years, so I don't know if the Radeon control panel has a similar option to change.
Thanks for your time.
AMD software has some shortcuts which enable different profile configurations, but they change things like v-sync, anti-aliasing quality, etc, which don't affect the performance of this game.
I tried to enable AMD overdrive as well and increase the clock from 800mhz to 900mhz but it didn't help either.
Tested on dolphin 4.0-7435 and 5.0-rc-19 and as well and the performance is the same. Unofficial build Ishiiruka.420 brings the same results, except that the sound lags a bit less during the slowdown, due to the "time stretching" feature, which is a plus, but i have some bugs playing on full screen with this emulator.
These cutscenes don't look too demand. They don't seem to have anything special. It's also curious that the performance with IR 3X and 1x is exactly the same on my PC.
I read the rest of this thread. Some guys are having the same problem, despite having much faster machines, but there are a few reports of people with slower machines playing this game at full speed, so maybe raw power isn't the key to this puzzle, lol.
Actually, i am happy with the progress with Dolphin and how the performance of this game improved during the last year. As of now i can get at least 24 FPS in the most demanding cutscene. I am not complaing. Just curious if i could get 30FPS at least without any frame rate drop during all game. But it seems to be very playable now. Thanks the programmers for this.
Did more tests.
Find out that enabling Dual Core AND "deterministic dual core: fake completion" i completely get rid of the framerate drops during cutscenes. Gameplay is more smooth than ever. I actually noticed some drops during battles, but only twice and when i tried to replicate, i couldn't see a thing anymore. I still need "Skip EFB access from CPU" ON for Fina's flashbacks, though.
I hope to avoid the "Text Garbage In Item Menu" bug with dual core on. Maybe it only happens for certain CPUs and with deterministic dual core off. I am still in the beginning and i do not have enough items to test this bug yet. Really hope to avoid it despite setting dual core on!
BTW, with deterministic dual core off/not set the gameplay isn't very smooth with Direct3D. Enabling "fake completion" totally fix it.
