Nope, just tried ToS like 30 minutes ago. You can hear a lot of the notes, but they're completely off-key. Probably irrelevant, but ToS will run fine even with LLE on a 3.3GHz Sandy Bridge chip or better (it can probably be lower, but that's what I've gathered).

Where did you test ToS ? In first village or somewhere alse ? Yeah it has some off key notes but generally its closer to LLE then SOA is on my pc..could it be the settings ?
SOA is playing sounds longer then it should on my pc, so it sounds like what would happen if game froze.
But anyways, I definitelly have to say great work delroth, I was pleasantly suprised. Nobody bothered to fix HLE issues for years !
I tested it now, all notes play and the music sound a little bit weird compared to the game on a real GC, but it's not too bad. The problem is that now my game always crashes after a couple of minutes. I can't even get past the intro cutscene. Why?

Nevermind that.

Anyway, my analysis is that the music now plays somewhat decently but still it doesn't sound too good. There are also a bunch of skips and crackles every now and then, a couple of missing notes here and there and some notes playing at higher volume than normal. It's still a huge improvement and I hope development of the HLE sound emulator continues. Sure LLE solves everything but it makes the emulator 10 times heavier, we also need HLE.

I'm a bit into the 1st disc, but not too much. Lloyd and the others just found out that Magnius is attacking people or something like that. The title screen music is still way off-key. The overworld field sounds equally messed up. I can hear all of the notes, but a lot are very muted or sound like they're playing at the wrong time. For me, it's nowhere near the level SoA plays at with HLE. I really should make a video, since I said in the previous thread that I'd make one anyway to show people you don't need much to run this game on LLE. In SoA, HLE audio is almost on par with LLE, aside from a slight echo and certain sounds that are louder than others (which I rather like, again, for added drama :p).

Audio backends may play a role in this, but I'm not sure even to what extent that could be. ALSA on Linux may simply handle the audio better in SoA than DSound or XAudio2. I'm still very happy with the results so far.
While I did try the debugger and the FIFO player, I am not experienced enough to understand what causes the bug, but I did notice one thing simply by playing: The red artifact is not a miscolored shadow, but a cone which is attached below almost every object, and it's purpose seems to be that where the cone clips with the ground, a shadow is drawn. The problem is that the cone should be invisible, but is actually red and semi-transparent.
I'm getting a problem with this game. All the character models turn up black, as well as the background in-game. I tried DX9 and Dx11 plugins. Also the projection seems to be broken, and it freezes my game. On version 3.0-852 with new ax-hle.
This could be a bad dump. Use a program to get the MD5 hash of your disc image, then compare that to verified working copies from Redump.org or GameTDB. If they don't match, you may need to redump your game.

What about OpenGL?

Tried Opengl, No improvement. Heres a pic of what it looks like in the intro.

Will try and see if i can check the hash. what program do you recommend?
MD5summer, WinMD5 Free etc. There are plenty of tools, just search google.
Just checked the Md5 and it checks out. Same as the USA version.
