Oh, the original servers for this game weren't shut down? That's nice. You should be able to connect the normal way (as described in the manual/game) then.
How does online play work for Wii titles with Dolphin? Since Wii has no BBA, can you connect without installing a TAP adapter?

Yes. Dolphin handles it more or less automatically through IOS HLE as far as I know. But you need to have the right certificates first, as this page describes:

I can confirm online play works fine under Dolphin; tried it a couple of months ago. Feels like cheating when you use keyboard/mouse though...

It 'should' be possible to play online with the wii, i can connect to the online shop with my wii but can't get Goldeneye to work ("unable to connect to game server", no error codes)

Feels like braindamage when i play with a console controller
I find the wiimote/nunchuck by far the best way to play shooters, i would buy a Wii U if they had released more titles (shooters) for it.
Sony could have taken Nintendo's place with the Playstation move but they didn't.. So thank god there's Dolphin! 8-)

See post #33 above which links to a guide on how to obtain the proper certificates from the NUS servers. After doing that, I was able to connect to the game servers. I also have a dump of my Wii's NAND in the dolphin folder so I don't know if that is required as well.
Has anyone been able to make the game run at 60 fps? The X360 upgrade can do it so I'm not sure how difficult it would be.

All other buttons work fine, though when have to open the first door (with the B button) it doesn't respond.
EDIT: fixed it, was all about a wrong button config (duh)
