Hello everybody, i'm new on the forum and I'm french too (ho, nooo, not a french again!)
I encounter exactly the same problem than Epervier 666 on the PAL version of this GC game :
-the graphics are dark, as a result, you can't see where you go or what objects are available in front of you
-if I use the
Bleach Vs Crusade hack, the graphics become OK but I lose the subtitles and all the menus in the inventory. As a result, you can't see neither your health nor the objects in your inventory, so you can't select them, combine them… The game is unplayable by this way.
It's not dependent on the engine selected (opengl, direct3D), it's not dependent on the brand of the graphic card (Epervier 666 has an ATI, I have an nVidia), it's not dependent on the dolphin version (I tried 3.00 & 3.5) and it's not dependent on the platform since I compiled dolphin 3.5 for Fedora and I got exactly the same result.
Nevertheless, I tried to select
Personalized and to put random values for the parameters in the section
hack parameters : zNear & zFar Corrections. From time to time, I had the subtitles but not the inventory, or I had half of the inventory but not the subtitles. So I searched values that allow me to have :
-graphics with good lightning
-inventory
-subtitles
After a hundred of tries (thanks the
save/load state dolphin function) , I got these values :
zNear Correction : 0.000001 - box (-)+zNear
not checked
zFar Correction : 2.000001 - box (-)+zFar
checked
With these values, the game is 100% ok on dolphin 3.5 (Windows & Linux).
On the other hand, on dolphin 3.0, the inventory is not 100% perfect. Depending on the room where you are (how come?

), the image in the background may be missing, the submenu Use/Combine/Visualize may be empty, which means you have to learn the location of these options by heart. Not perfect but playable. I guess there are better values for zNear/zFar Corrections but the game is playable by this way.
However, the game experience is not perfect : some sound are not corrects (for example, I get sound crackles when dolphin renders the rain noise at the beginning of the game) and the game has a framerate problem : on my machine, I get 17-25 fps. On the PAL version of the game, changing EFB options does not have any incidence on the framerate. I would recommend to try different values in
Dolphin Configuration/General/Frame Limit (like
Off or
Auto or
30fps) and to
check Limit by FPS. This is the way I get the best results in Resident Evil Code Veronica X (PAL).
I hope this can help.
