Your 7950 might not be coming out of sleep mode and running in low power mode, making your framerate dive.

I'm having the same problem. I have a radeon 5870 and the game is running very slow. Im new to the dolphin so I tried using any setting that other people have recommended on the internet and also different versions of Dolphin. Also both PAL and NTSC versions of the game but they all have the same problem. My CPU should be capable (AMD phenom 2X4 3.2ghz)
If it is what you say about the GPU running in low power mode, can I change this? and how?

In your case your CPU is a bit slow for this game (if you don't overclock). What speed do you get?

A cpu running at 3.5 ghz isn't enough to emulate F-Zero GX? Damn shame. Only when the other cars are there. On time trials it works fine for the most part.
I tried overclocking the CPU to 3.8 GHz and its a quad core processor.

Even the menu music stutters a bit so its not just in-game. In the race it is so slow that its almost playable! lol.
Wii games seem to run OK.

I have the original game and an action replay but I really want to play the AX game in HD because I love this game.
Before I say anything I know my graphics card sucks and my CPU isn't the greatest thing alive. The game is playable for me except for the audio stuttering. I've tried everything I can think of/read but it still stutters. Any thing I can do to make it not stutter so bad? I know I probably wouldn't have this problem with a Core i5/i7 but that isn't an option for me. Thanks! Smile

P.S my settings are AMD FX 8320 running at 4.3ghz
Geforce 630GT (temporary)
16gb ram
Windows 8 Pro x64
So guys, what's the verdict on this unlock AX hack? Word around the barn is it
crashes when do you certain things like finish the race and whatnot. Anyone else can confirm this or tried it?
OK I just tried the very latest Master Branch build. The game runs excellent now. I got one crash in Sand Ocean but I think it may have been due to having AA @ x9. Put it @ x4 and everything continued to run ok.

AX:

This mode is working just fine so far. No crashes except for when you pause the game while on the track and select "settings". Otherwise this mode is BANANAS! AX tracks are hard as hell except for Mute City and Aeropolis. Hard to get anywhere within the top 5. Love it though! Gonna keep playing and testing...
Also having game speed issues, even in the menus which is quite annoying. I'm running on a GTX 675MX GPU (4GB GDDR5), with i7-3630QM Processor with 8 logic threads and I have 16 Gitabytes of DDR3 @ 1600MHz. My system can run everything but Farcry 3 on Ultra, there's no reason why it should be lagging but it is.
Yeah, the menus lag pretty for me (mostly just the audio though) in game I get between 27fps and 47fps (depending on the stage) I'm ok with that speed just wish I knew how to make the audio a bit better Undecided
