I can record video but I doubt it will be any useful, in any case after I set the above setting it didn't happen, but only tested once so it might be early to assure. To rule out reasons these are my default settings, aside of "Scaled EFB Copy" in the Enhancements tab:
Along those with F-Zero I also use D3D, Widescreen and "Skip EFB Acces from CPU"... upss and the projection hack and (PH_ZFar = 0.01) from when I was using GL, might be that, I will comment those lines.
By the way a question, can I use the NTSC AR codes into the PAL ini? $Unlock AX Cup Tracks, etc.
No; you can't. Also, you're using the PAL Version of F-Zero GX, which may explain why I can't reproduce the bug.
Codes are designed for memory addresses in one version of the game; they'd be moved around in another version.
I use the NTSC version.
edit: I think the problem could had been PH_ZFar = 0.01, which made sense for GL, but not D3D. Haven't tested though.
I can confirm the crashes occur in D3D when exiting the game. I tried to remove parameters, settings, defaulting them without success. Can someone confirm?
edit: confirmed, the problem comes from changing backend on a per game basis. Basically having GL as default and changing to D3D for f-zero on gamesettings with GFXBackend = D3D. Do you know if this bug has a ticket?
Has anybody tried the AR codes for enabling F-Zero AX with Dolphin? The Wiki's AX page says that doing so is buggy, but of course the Wiki isn't always up to date, so I thought I'd ask. I've gotten the impression that it's supposed to work fine on real hardware, at least, so I assume any crashes are due to Dolphin and not the game or the codes.
I have it enabled, but I don't know what it is supposed to do... I don't have crashes other than the one reported when exiting the game.
F-Zero AX was an arcade game released at the same time as GX, and it uses the same engine as GX. It has some of the same cars but with different abilities and also has different tracks plus a time-attack mode. It turns out that the entire arcade game is actually contained within GX, but you can't enable it without using the code. Doing so supposedly prevents you from accessing GX and boots the game into AX mode instead, so you can play the entire arcade game on the GC. The Wiki only briefly mentions the ability to play AX in the GC version, but it says doing so has bugs. I was just wondering if that were still the case, or if the code even worked at all in Dolphin.
I know about AX, I played the actual arcade, I'm just asking what I am supposed to look for to see whether it worked or not, title screen? The only AX related AR code is "$Unlock AX Cup Tracks".
The AX gecko code works for me. I remember using the V8 version of the AX code. The code can be found on the web and pasted into the game ini.

Yes, good one! that worked for me. I had to enable cheats, that's a setting easy to fly by. Tracks are not exactly the same, aren't they?
