I keep freezing after getting the first grand star boss.
I have DSP-LLE Enabled and Audio Backend as XAudio. I've tried DSound. I tired disabling the auto. I've been using the latest Stable build of Dolphin. I have been using Save States.
Try to avoid savestates and save in-game. Then, try again with DSP-LLE.

If the problem is still present, try to redump the DSP files.
That's what I did. I tried reloading a saved game and it froze after the first major boss. I'll try the DSP thing.
If you're using "LLE on Thread" try to uncheck this option. It may cause freezes in this game
Yeah, LLE on thread has problems with some games (especially Zelda uCode games)

Anyway, you should find more information in the wiki page of SMG2 -> http://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Super_Mario_Galaxy_2
Potential freezes due to "LLE on Thread" are not mentioned though
I didn't have "LLE on Thread" checked, but having DSP LLE makes the music studder.

I guess you meant "stutter".
It's because your CPU isn't powerful enough. SMG2 + LLE need at least 4.0GHz to work properly
That blows.=/ Well, I heard HLE + XAudio works too.

HLE + XAudio can reduce sound issues that's right. It works really fine for some games but not in SMG 1/2 AFAIK.
Moreover HLE + XAudio won't be helpful to avoid freezes. LLE is required.
If your system can't fully support LLE you have a "soft" solution : use LLE when you need it. Make a save. Switch to LLE. Load your game. You'll avoid freezes. You'll have to deal with crappy sound though
