I m trying to make this game working on an old computer, so I have made some tests and I have found somes stranges synchronisation effects.

When you start the game, you have a little animation, A voice is speaking, your character is walking, a little pause, a sound, and your character is stunned. I m using OpenGL/OpenAL and the game works at 80/100 %speed.

All by defaut :The off-voice finish at the good moment but the sound come too fast, in fact the voice and the sound are superimposed, instead of one after the other.
If I use Vbeam hack : Now the off-voice finish too early and the pause last for 3 /4 s.

On the description vbeam boost the GPU processor, why it s the sound that work faster ?
The last dolphin version have a better DSP synchronisation, why this game work so nice on V 2.0 and so ugly on V 4.0, I can understand if I loose some fps to have better accuracy but the difference is really impressive, and it isn't just a frame comparaison.

I can see somes differences too, when I m using the GPU/CPU synchronisation thread.

Using the latest 5.0 release to try this game again it dies after 2-5 minutes of playing with the message "FIFO is overflown by GatherPipe, CPU thread is too fast!".
Tried different settings but didn't get any different results.
Is there anything I'm missing or is the game borked?

I have the exact same thing showing when I play the game aswell but with that I have another problem is that I'm getting an infinite loadscreen bug and have been unable to come around that.
I've find one rev Dolphin-5.0-RC-35-x64 on a site japanese working perfectly with this game .

Yea um, that is 4.0-6727, and that's thousands of builds old at this point! It has no relation to 5.0 at all, other than being a failed and aborted attempt. We no longer make those builds easy to find specifically because no one should be using them.

Also, you really shouldn't be downloading Dolphin off of weird sites! Not only is that site a license violation by distributing without source, but who knows what else is coming with those builds? Always download from dolphin-emu.org! You can look at the source code of everything, from the builds themselves to the site itself, and know it's all safe.

maybe but it work fine with this game ,i've stop to use dolphin for baldur's gate dark alliance it run perfectly on pcsx2 with some settings and async mix option the sound is great like the graphics i get 50 fps constantly i've only 40-45 fps at the center of the bar i don't know for why  Tongue in the city with many of people and the dungeons i keep all time 50 fps but the sound keep so nice without lag

Sure, but 4.0-6727 will probably work just as well. We recommend 4.0-6727 over the nearly identical 5.0-rc builds, because it's too easy to confuse the 5.0-rc builds with the very different 5.0 release. Of course, 5.0 is even better than 4.0-6727, unless there's some problem that makes it not work for you.

4.0-6727 work well of course for this game also but i can't found a sound stable like on pcsx2 for this game dolphin has not an option like keep a sound normal when the framerates play a bit at yo-yo the two emulator are a good complement .
do you can add the motion plus also ? like 3.5-1522 ? thanks

ok i have tried everything i can think of and have searched online but no luck. I am trying to figure out why Baluder's Gate dark alliance is not running right. i can not seem to get my game above 50% playspeed. i have tried default settings like the site suggests but its not working. i have tried my cooling system to no avial but my laptop isnt hot. I have tried altering game settings, graphic settings, audio, and config but still no luck with any of it. On default settings i manage to get about 52%, altered as much as im willing to i can get it to 55% but its still way slow. I thought it might be the 5.0 version so i installed 4.0.2 and am still at a 42% game speed. if i alter settings i can get it to run at 100% but only for 2 mins before dolphin crashes. any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thank you

Hello everyone.


The wiki doesn't list any problems with this game at all, but I don't believe it is true.

I've had these issues for as long as I can remember.

When you reach a save point and click save, it freezes the game. Not every save point, but it does happen. For me, I can't save it after killing the rats (first mission).

After killing the rats and not saving, clicking teleport results in the loading screen showing as expected, but running at about 5fps.

I hope my specs and dolphin version shows up on this post after entering it into my registration form... But just in case:
  • i7-4790k @ 4.6ghz
  • 16GB DDR3 RAM @ 1833mhz
  • MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB

All dolphin settings set to default. Using the latest fault build, but it has happened since v4.x.

Steps to reproduce:

- Save the game in the tavern before going down to the cellar to start the first mission.

- Break everything, pots, boxes etc and collect everything as you progress through each room.

- Once you've killed all the rats, break and collect everything in the final room (the one with the save point)

- Try to save the game. Once you hit x, the game will freeze.
