Well, any of the slowdown could be avoided if we could overclock the GameCube/Wii CPU.
In Metal Gear Solid TTS sound has some cracking when running HLE, though not as bad as in old dolphin revisions. I thought it was perfect but it turns out that it was indeed perfect when audio framelimit hack was available. In Ishiruka builds it is still present and audio is ok when it's in use, but when you turn on auto framelimit, it cracks just like the official svn. Can someone investigate this problem?

BTW, there is a way to force this game run at constant 50 fps even in the scenes that are locked at 25 fps. Moreover, even if you won't get 50 fps it'll still run at proper speed. The downside of this is you need to have a powerful rig and LLE plugin for audio, since this "hack" works only on Dolphin 3.0. I don't remember the exact settings, but if someone is interested I could recheck it (it was a long time ago).
hi there

im using Ishiruka bulied and its PERFECT with no lags or other stuff

but there's one problem i have

i got the 2 copies..PAL and NTSC..i like playing 60 instead of 50 but its ok

the PAL version is amazing and just stay on 50 nothing els..great

but NTSC is perfect to always at 60 but the games has some stutter..it happens alot
its stuttering badly but the fps exactly at 60 only

so NTSC is always like that with this version?

any fix?

I can't get the game to start on the latest dev build (4.0-5458) of Dolphin.

The game works decently on the 4.0-3669 build however.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? The game plays the Konami intro, then freezes. I'm using the NTSC version of the game.

Edit: Game works fine on Dolphin 4.0-5390.

Can confirm this. The emulator doesn't crash and become unresponsive or close, but the game itself is frozen at the Konami Logo. This happens on Disc 1 & 2 of both the NTSC and PAL versions of the game.

I've not tried any versions between 5359 (where it works great) and the newest so I can't say exactly what revision broke it myself.

Glad I'm not the only one whose having the problem. The game broke somewhere between 5432 and 5450. I don't have the time to find out exactly which version broke it, but there's a starting point.

I was wondering if you know how to fix an issue I'm having. Basically, whenever I use the codex, it doesn't fade in naturally like it should. There's this jarring flash of color, usually pink or green, then the codex opens. Similar thing happens with cut-scenes. The last 3d area will flash on the screen, the cutscene will play, there will be another flash and then I'll be able to continue playing.

I'm using OpenGL.

I'm using OpenGL. Let me know if you want the rest of my settings.

Thats all I've needed.

As for the area appearing quickly before the cutscene, this actually happened on the gamecube too, Its just a shitty bug due to shitty programming it seems, I saw it on a bunch of lets play.

The games also got a lot of stretched (I mean CRAZY stretched) textures here and there. If you go a few posts back in the thread you'll see a few screenshots from me about that issue, turns out it also happened on the gamecube too.

That cutscene bug also happens with the cutscene sequence that plays before the title screen too, it really is just bad coding it seems.

I'm using version 5359 and its fine there for the codec.

If you're interested in playing the game with nicer textures, I have a HD texture pack on the forums here: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-metal-gear-solid-twin-snakes-hd-rextexture-project

If you just wanted to use only the new icons and User Interface stuff, you can easily just delete all the other folders and get only those. Note: I've only gotten as far as the Heliport though, when it comes to environment retextures I mean.

Switching to DirectX fixed the bug, thanks! It runs a bit worse than OpenGL, but turning down the IR a bit helped fix that.

I had a feeling that that might just be poor coding. Annoying, but at least I now know that it's not Dolphin.

Your HD texture pack looks like good stuff Wink I didn't actually notice the stretching originally. I just assumed it was because of the age of the game.

For Audio, HLE, right. Not LLE?

You must be a pretty hardcore fan of the game considering you're putting so much effort into everything Wink I played Ground Zeroes recently, that was my first Metal Gear game. I enjoyed it mechanically, but from a story perspective, I had no clue what was going on. So now I'm here to play the older titles. I wanted to try MGS1 on the PS1, but I don't have a Playstation controller available for emulation and playing games where the button prompts don't add up annoys me. I was actually surprised that the majority of the MGS games run at 60FPS on the 6th gen consoles. Aside from the controls, they haven't aged all that badly.

Maybe one day they'll bring a MGS1-4 HD remaster running on the FOX engine to PC :p One can dream...

Also, how to you add multiple inputs to a button? For example, in the HD thread you have Start mapped to Start or Back.
If you need a high quality video (60 fps 1080p+) let me know.
The crash on startup is a known regression; see https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/2055 .
