try using the latest development version
As I have said, latest releases seem to make the problem
worse, with the choppy audio+General slow down of the game not only happening in certain minigames and transections, but also at title screen and select a party screen. But since releases come very frequently, it might be worth a shot.
Edit: I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact I'm using 84 bit dolphin while my computer is 64 bit. Also, I have yet to test other games to see if a similar problem occurs.
There are only 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions of Dolphin, and the newest versions only have 64-bit. You should always use 64-bit.
My bad, the current version I had was labelled x86. I tried downloading the latest version but it just makes the audio sound like a radio with horrible receiver. The gameplay is also slowed down generally in almost all parts of it, compared to 4.0.2. At this point I am convinced it is my computer, but I dont understand how I was able to get it to work 100% perfectly a year or two ago, on the same computer. 4.0.2 is somehow my most stable version, so what DOES seem to solve the problem is downloading the 64 bit one. I will try experimenting with both x64 and x32 to see how it goes.
Anyone able to get Mario Party 7 running with the mic connected? With the latest build it is just locking up when the mic is detected. Works fine with no mic, and Mario Party 6 works fine with the mic. Only seems to be an issue with this game.

I think I have a similar problem. I am emulating Mario Party 7 for GC, use the original GC-Adapter for WiiU, Dolphin 5.0 and 2 original GC controllers. I have a mic (audio jack) connected to my PC and set as the standard output device. I have not tried Mario Party 6 though.
My problem is with the mic config: "Set its button to GCN Pad 2, it does not work on Pad 1." How can I set the button? There is no menu when I have the adapter selected, only the option to activate rumble and to emulate DK bongos.
Any help is apprechiated!

If you're using the newest development build, go to Config > GameCube (instead of Controllers) and configure Slot B. If you're using an older version (like 5.0)... I'm not sure exactly how it works – the only thing I remember clearly is that it's done in a non-intuitive way – but maybe you have to temporarily have to change controller 2 to Standard Controller so you can access the mic setting.

Hi and thanks for the fast and good response! I downloaded the newest development build (5.0-1880) and went to configure Slot B. It gives me the option to assign a mic button but for input I can only select "DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse" and not my controller (which is connected to my PC via the GC-Adapter for WiiU). It seems like Dolphin does not detect it as an input option for the mic. Is it possible to use the controller for mic activation at all? I want to assign it to D-Pad down.
Not via Native GameCube Controller support because, well, we're not using it as an emulated controller at that point.
