First set up the controls so that they map to the XInput device.  Once that is done, right click on the button which corresponds to the control that you want to map to your mouse.  In the dialog box that pops up, change the device to DInput Keyboard/Mouse and set that control to the mouse button.  Press Apply and OK.  Repeat for the other mouse button.  Now you'll find that both your PS3 controller as well as your mouse button works.

ahh ok - I didn't know you could do that.

For the sake of information, I'll still post what I was going to say before I found your reply(since I wasn't exactly expecting one so fast):
After I posted I did some digging/research/experiments/whatever you want to call it, and found that you can change the method of control in-game for this, for controlling the pointer. There's 2 "Types": Type 1 uses the IR Sensor bar to move the pointer. Type 2 will let you use the Control Pad on the Wiimote to move the pointer. I set it to Type 2, and cross-mapped the control pad on the Wiimote to be the same as the Classic Controller attachment.  After setting it up this way, it took a minute to get the hang of, but it worked out.

Edit: Tried what you mentioned, and got it working(using the "Type 1" controls for the pointer").  After using both methods for a while, I think I would prefer using Type 2, since it saves me from having to try to use 2 devices, and I don't have to take my hand off the controller to try and do it with the mouse.  Your information is not wasted however, I'll surely remember it in case I need it elsewhere.

The regular Classic Controller does have four shoulder buttons: L, R, ZL and ZR. ZL and ZR are more awkwardly placed than on the Classic Controller Pro, though.

ah ok - all the pictures I found of it weren't very good, so couldn't really tell. but it looked a lot thinner, kind of similar to a SNES controller - so I assumed it was mapped/designed the same. Also couldn't really find anything in-game that used those 2 buttons that wasn't already mapped to another one.
I think there is a small mistake in the wiki of this game.
It lists as compatible input methods the wiimote by itself, without needing nunchuk or classic controller.
Well, when trying to play with the wiimote alone you get a message asking to connect classic controller or nunchuk.

Graphic bug with JP version (RMHJ08)

[attachment=19386]

Look at the trees
There are some weird blocks

[attachment=19388]

Look at the moon
It's... damned...

In a static pic, it may look not so obvious
But in fact, the block is everywhere

And my setting is like this

[attachment=19387]

Since I cant upload big size picture
I can only wish you guys try yourslef

And what is most strange?
The USA version is alright (RMHE08)
Only JP version has this problem

The wiki page says this game is now perfect...
But it's not updated since 1 year ago
And maybe no one tests JP version...
This is a side effect of how the game's bloom works. If you go to the game properties in a recent version of Dolphin, there should be a patch available for turning the bloom off, even for the Japanese version. (Or is the patch for the Japanese version not working?)

I am using the latest version, 5.0-13495.
And there IS some kind of Bloom OFF code in game setting /config file.

It's like this

Maybe this code works not so... precisely...
