Quote:Can you give me any reason you have to think there are two separate models for normal gameplay and cutscenes?
Nevermind, just checked them. It seems like they're (nearly) the same model.

Quote:Can you notice any performance difference between these two parts of the cutscene in Dolphin?
Yeah, I did notice the pre-rendered part. The quality difference was colossal.
I really have to try it out again to verify. It's been over a year now, so I can't talk with absolute certainty.
But from what I remember, there was definitely a performance difference.

Can anyone provide a savegame for the ending portion?
I'll look around for a save file around there. And the whole thing about cutscenes still seems fishy to me, since some play fine during certain parts, and others just slow down like when you walk down into the stone Dias for the second centurion core. Air one. I have a AMD
1055T OC'ed to 3.7GHz. Delroths axle builds are fine. The sound skipping is because of the lag in cutscenes.

BTW: The rest of my specs are on my Profile page, but I don't think my oc'ed gtx 460 is the problem since ir doesn't change the fps
Obviously your GPU isn't the problem. Your CPU is.

Not every cutscene will play fullspeed if you are barely able to keep the game above 60FPS.
The more characters, effects, scenery, etc, are on screen, the more likely it is you might experience lag.

I told you to try out 3.0 since it might give you better performance without losing anything. The game works perfectly with HLE anyway.

But please do provide a savegame so I can test the ending.

Yes, I will give you a sav file. And i do understand that certain cutscenes WILL slow down for my CPU. However, some cut scenes dont make sense when they slow down to me. BTW: Most of the time my CPU hovers 150% to 200% speed without framelimit during battles and most environments. I will test my CPU at stock speed also later to see the differences.
However, I will admit this, I have never been able to navigate my dumped wii nand very well. Can you help me get the save file out XD

Which cutscenes? It would really help if you could provide a screenshot of the demanding cutscenes.

Yeah. The game isn't really demanding at all during regular play (walking in towns, battles, etc).

The only difference you'll see is a drop in performance.

That's actually really easy. All you really have to do is right-click the game, hit "Open Wii save folder", rar the inside (excluding the banner.bin obviously since it's just the banner), upload the file and send it to us.

Alright, thanks. The reason why I mentioned the underclocking was that I didnt remember it running any better really after overclocking by .9 GHz lol. Ill try to get screenshots, but the fact that this game hates save states (causes graphical glitches sometimes for me) will mean I might have to start another save file, since some of the scenes that have confused me have already passed. Will see what I can do. Do you really want it .rared? Its only like a few KB.
Avoid savestates. They're only limited to the build they're made with. If you're going to send me a savefile, send me the in-game save by following the steps I mentioned before.
Having it rarred will ensure that the place you'll upload it to will accept it. Besides, it can reduce the filesize (a lot) depending on the save.
Alright, I got it uploaded, here's a link, sorry about the ads, quickest way I could upload. Had to zip it, I have 7zip, wasnt sure you did either.

Im in the air temple, since you wanted the save file, here you go. Ill go ahead and restart and gather more save files and data since ToS save files are small.

Original replier here. I'm running a 2.2 i7 with a Geforce 640. The entire game runs fine for me its JUST the cutscenes that are being wonky. I did try 3.0 version which fixed some in game stuff (mystic artes no longer slow down) but the cutscenes slow down more than the 878 version. I can also provide a save state if you want.

That i7 probably needs to be overclocked a bit. A GTX 640 will probably do the job at 2x or 3x resolution.

Overclocking laptops is inadvisable unless you know what you're doing and how to keep it cool. The only i7-2760 I know of is the i7-2760QM.

riak157, if you want, you can monitor your CPU with something like CPU-Z to confirm that it is turbo-boosting correctly (though that sounds like that's already the case). There's probably not much more speed you can wring out of your laptop, since upgrading that kind of hardware often means buying a whole new machine.
