I've ran into a strange performance issue with the 'shadow world' transition effect under DX11, regardless of ubershader settings (does not occur under OpenGL nor Vulkan). Stepping into the warp drastically drops performance to a <4% speed slideshow during the transition (with an accompanying massive spike in CPU/GPU usage), while I can maintain ~300% speed under OpenGL during the same transition. I've included my save if anyone else wants to see if they can reproduce that.
Save:
https://mega.nz/#!IWARyLoK!BnuAumHAOHhscCsBNBA5A6RjqHv3pieHxUGItyewkQ4
Exact steps for reproduction:
-Start game
-Choose Hyrulean Adventure
-Load save
-Start singleplayer game
-Select Level 2 (Eastern Hyrule)
-Select Zone 2 (Village of the Blue Maiden)
-Go north through the area transition
-Step up to the wooden post next to the flower bed
-Skip through dialog with the owl
-Step on the flower bed
-Return to the previous area and talk to the old man until you're given a pearl
-Go north again and step on the flower bed, triggering the appearance of the shadow warp
-Step into the shadow warp

I can now connect multiple VBA-Ms to a Dolphin game and have them register as controllers. The game will start, but then, we can't control our VBA-Ms simultaneously, even though "Pause when inactive" is unchecked and we are, ofcourse, using separate controls. When I switch from one VBA-M to the other, by selecting it with my mouse, I can then control the other VBA-M. So I can switch between them, just not use them at the same time! Switching controls from Xbox One controllers to, for example, keyboard, doesn't work either.
When I open two VBA-Ms and open a normal GBA game, I can control both of them at the same time. Hence, the problem occurs once I link them to my Dolpin emulator. I've tried using many different versions of both VBA-M and Dolphin, and I've always come across the same problem.
I haven't gotten the VBA-M link to work with Dolphin 5.0.
I'm using Windows 10.
I think the problem might be with Dolphin not registering multiple VBA-M inputs at the same time when they are linked? Really hoping that someone here can help! Thank you!
Anyone ever figure out a way round this problem? Having the exact same issue of only being able to control the copy of "VBA-M WX" that I have selected with my mouse... However, unlike yourself, I am unable to control 2 normal GBA games simultaneously.
I seem to remember this issue popping up shortly after some major Windows 10 update... "Creators Pack" or something... Don't know if they changed the way that Windows handles Joypad input with focused windows or something but I never used to have this problem?
Would love to be able to get round this issue & finish the game without having to do a fresh install & not letting it update! got to about world 5 with the missus before it stopped working =(
Hi ,i am currently playing this game and i am at a point that requires to throw at an 60 degree angle but my controller only allows 0 , 90, 180 and 270 angle turn. can i do something in the game to fix that. i am playing with a ps4 dualshock connected with ds4 windows
try combining 2 directions
The PAL 16:9 gecko code crashes dolphin... are they wrong?
I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this before, but I found a cheeky little way around some lag I was having.
I've been using Dolphin 5.0-7694, but aside from that, mostly following this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWYf5GJ4Tp8 , including his version of VBA-M (SVN947).
I had it running and connected, but was only pulling around 85%, and when the gameboys booted up, they were very laggy. I've had no lag problems with other games, so...
I went into VBA Options->Speed->Throttle and bumped it up to 150%.
It worked perfectly, currently having tested shadow battle with two players. Hopefully this helps someone.
After following the guide, worked perfectly in Four Swords with four players. I was really hoping I could use this method for FFCC but the first GBA won't connect, ugh. At least Four Swords is playable locally, barring any midgame issues.
Is there anyway to skip the opening scene, it's tediously long. -_-
