I made this account to post an issue I have while playing in the agon wastes area.
Whenever I face any Sandigger, the screen stretches like crazy (I think it goes from 4:3 to a stretched 16:9)
I have a video of this happening while I fight the bomb guardian.
In that video, I'm using a widescreen hack to avoid the stretched screen, anyway, it still does it, even if I disable any widescreen hack/setting, the results are the same, I haven't play any further than that, so I can't know if this occurs any other place in the game. I suspect that the sandiggers trigger this bug.
Here's a link to the video:

Thanks in advance for any further reply to my issue
This is a problem with Dolphin's widescreen detection heuristic. You can avoid the problem by setting Graphics > General > Aspect Ratio to Force 4:3 (and turning off Dolphin's widescreen hack if you have it on).

Thank you, I'll try it right now.

Indeed, it solved the issue!
I guess any widescreen hacks tend to break itself during some zones of the game.
Anyway, thank you!
Hi there!
I'm currently having a blast playing my favourite GC game Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on an ultra widescreen. It all has come a long way since I tried emulating years ago, and tbh everything looks like I remember it on GC, but I know that isn't true, and it looks way better now. It all holds up amazingly well and everything runs fabulous, except for the minor issue that M4sonH also posted . I experience them in some cutscenes and also when facing Sand Diggers. I don't mind so much, except for the boss battle with the Sand Digger.
For anyone wondering what settings results in an image quality I like and has a stable 60 fps with almost no dips on a 1080 Ti:
Direct 3D 11 (found this more stable than 12)
Asynchronous Ubershaders
Stretch to Window with the 16:9 ARF code + Widescreen hack
4x Native, 4X SSAA, 4xAF
(Un)fortunately (depending how you look at it), my muscle memory is also great, and I'm going through the game like a breeze, experiencing little challenge. I would love to go through the game on Hard Mode, but that only unlocks after completing it on Normal. The only solution so far that I've come up with is using a save file from someone that has completed it and then start a new game on Hard Mode. This works, but I was wondering if there are any cheats to unlock something similar to Hard Mode for my current save file on Normal Mode. This way I can retain my progress and continue from there.
I have little hope, as I looked qutie extensively, but who knows?
[ Edit: This problem has been fixed by setting the type of Storage for Gamecube games from Memory Cards to the gci. Folder.]
Hello Everyone!
I was playing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes after not playing it in a while and came across an issue when I would go to a Save Station.
When I saved the game and left just to play the game again, my Save File would be the same as if I didn't go to the Save Station prior.
I tried a lot of solutions, such as Running Dolphin as Administrator, Updating Dolphin to the newest Update, and switching the USA and Europe Memory Cards from A to B.
Help could be very appreciated.
Hey all, decided to do a run of Metroid Prime 2, just got the latest updated Dolphin but noticed fps drops when near the portals. I had thought this issue was fixed in earlier versions of Dolphin but it seems this problem is back. my FPS dropped from 50 to 30FPS when by a portal.
