I am playing on 3.5-1124 (my PC is not powerful enough to have enjoyable gameplay (or rather audio) with any the new HLE sound) and having the issue that after picking up star bits the controls kinda lag for a second. Now, the wiki says this is fixed by the game setting "Alternate Wiimote Timing", but unfortunately, that setting doesn't seem to exist anymore. Is there another way to fix this? Or is the option only gone from the GUI and can still be written into the game setting ini (if so, what exactly would I have to write there?)?
You can disable Wiimote speaker here:

Yeah, I have it disabled, but that doesn't fix the issue. I think I remember reading back then that "disabling" the wiimote speaker over that option doesn't disable the data that is being sent. So I guess that "alternate wiimote timing" option is needed.
Dolphin 4.0 doesn't seem to need it, though; no issue there. But I'd really need it for 3.5 :/

I'm having performance much lower than I expected from this game, considering my hardware. I've been emulating for a number of years, but this is the first game I have attempted to emulate on Dolphin (4.0). I looked at the game config guide and followed the directions there. I have also looked through the general performance guide and used it to try to tweak a little more performance with limited success.

Considering that some people seem to achieve 60fps smooth with 1080p internal resolution, I am a little dismayed that I struggle to stay above 50fps at 1x internal. Please have a look at my settings and let me know if there is something else I should be changing. Or is there another version of Dolphin that is known to have better performance with this game?

Regarding this post, I don't know how to explain it, but when I set both internal and fullscreen resolution to "Auto" (on a 1920x1080 display), SMG2 is able to run at a smooth 60fps with a very occasional dip into the 50s or high 40s. I have no idea why increasing the number of rendered pixels would increase performance, but I can't find a reason to argue.
is there a thread for the 1st galaxy game? I want to know the best settings.
thank youuuu

*****NOT RELEVANT ANYMORE, FOUND A FIX****The game runs fine and quick for me, but i can't save my game. It always says that "the file cannot be used because the data is corrupted", offers to delete it, then proceeds to say that the corrupted file has been deleted, offers to try saving again and then freezes with an error. This wasn't an issue since i could just use savestates instead, but now that i've got to the grand star freeze spot, i can't seem to get past it without using regular saves.

I'm using dolphin 4.0. Tried running as administrator, completely deleting the "MemoryCardA.USA.raw" file which seems to be the culprit (?), removing all memcards from all slots in GC options in dolphin, and the same error pops up each time. I've also tested New Super Mario Bros Wii, and it doesn't have any issues with saving.
Anyone knows what i can try to do to fix this?
*****NOT RELEVANT ANYMORE, FOUND A FIX*****

EDIT: same happens with 4.0.1. Using win7 x64, savestates and other similar stuff is stored in c:\documents and settings somewhere.

EDIT2: ok, it seems that the problem was caused by using russian win7, and thus having cyrillic letters in the path. Edited dolphin.ini to not contain any of those and everything works now. Duh.

On the level 'fluzzard's first flight'. Initially I had put the wiimote shaking all on 1 button(I'm using a PS4 controller), but on that level I need to direct the wiimote in several directions, how exactly do I do this?
