I'm having what appears to be the same issue as the user "Andrelegeant" that posted at the top of this page (22) had with starting SMG2.

The game boots without any problem. After selecting a file to play, the game fades to black to transition, but actually seems to crash the graphic drivers for my card. This crashes Dolphin too, and after the drivers restart the program is unresponsive. This happens with both D3D11 and OpenGL.

With D3D11, Dolphin pops up with the error message "DX11::Renderer::AccessEFB failed in Render.cpp at line 431: Map staging buffer failed"

Using Software renderer to get past the transition to the game's introduction, then saving/loading the savestate with D3D11 gives different errors, "Failed to create texture at D3DTexture.cpp, line 63: hr=0x887a0005","DX11::TextureCache::TCacheEntry::FromRenderTarget failed in TextureCache.cpp at line 222: Create efb copy constant buffer 3"

Tried this on 5.0 and 4.0.2 stables, and they both have the same issue, along with one of the latest builds (5.0-1226). Direct3D9 seems to work on 4.0.2 without any problems, however.

Drivers and everything seem to be up to date, along with DirectX, so not sure what to try.

Using:
Win7 x64
i5 6500 3.2 GHZ
RX 480 4GB
8GB RAM

Andrelegeant also had an RX 480, so perhaps something related to that? Figured I'd see if anyone has any idea before trying D3D9 on an older version to run the game.

Did you try the "render to main window" option?

Yep. Happens the same if it's rendering to the main window or not.

I'll add I also went back and tried SMG1, and it has the same issue of crashing on selecting a file with this setup.
I am confused by how to set up my XBOX360 controller for this. I have enabled Nunchuk and I could use one of the directional pad to enter the game introduction, but then Mario simply stands there while Green Toad walks back and forth. Could some one pls help? Thx.
Did anyone find a solution to this problem? I am using dolphin emulator 5.0 the newest version and still have this trouble when it comes to the nose dive. The keys work as I get the green tick of approval but i can't make the green tick stay there long enough for the game to approve. Everything else works accept the nose dive and that would work in the level I just can't get past the tutorial. Please help.

Sorry for the bump, I was playing this today...

Just pointing out that in Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, the graphics get messed up when swimming in deep water. The problem persists when out of water too. No other problems though... Take a look at SMG2 here:
Does this happen in the latest dev builds? Do you have the most up to date iGPU drivers?
Hello, I would like to know how to use LLE audio without hacking your Wii to get the audio ROM.

Is this it possible to get the Audio ROM without hacking the Wii?

I need to know this because when I collect a Grand star, I get a black screen, can someone help?

I use Dolphin 4.0.2.

I'll be very happy if someone helps me!  Smile
You don't need LLE audio if you use 5.0 or newer. You can use HLE audio which is faster and we do provide an reverse engineered LLE audio rom in the rare case that you do need LLE audio for a game.

Hello!

You can try this controller config file.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/d4g8bdngdjqxwc6/SMG2+XBC.ini

Go to C:\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Config\Profiles\Wiimote

Put the downloaded file in there.

Open Dolphin and go to Conrollers (or Wii mote)

Make sure that Emulated Wii mote is selected and that your Xbox One or Xbox 360 contoller is connected.

Click on Configure, and make sure that XInput/0/Gamepad is choosed as an input.

Then in the top right there shuld be Profiles, click the drop-down menu and then click on SMG2 XBC, and last, click on Load.

This will change the contolls, so look at them!

Hope that will fix the issue! Big Grin
