I know, but with a particular video settings the frame rate is still acceptable (40-50 fps), and even with that the sounds still doesn't sounds smooth.
My hardware doesn't have any problem with most of the games. I also read that someone with my same GPU run the game with no issue and with a good frame rate. Maybe there is a problem with the latest dolphin release?
Can you suggest me the optimal settings for the game? (considering my hardware)

Thanks

It is a 60 fps game so 40 fps is not acceptable for proper sound, you need constant 60. Use the latest development build with opengl and from the default settings change only the IR (preferably set to auto) and use hle audio.

I've tried, but the problem remains. I've also download one of the older dolphin build (3.5), and It's better, no audio problem anymore, unfortunately there are still some fps drops, even with lowest settings. I really can't understand what might be the problem. There are people with a hardware worse than mine, and it seems that they don't have this kind of issue.
Have fun with 3.5, because the audio is desynced with video, the music will stop after one loop, and be gone forever.

The audio is good with that build... btw the fps problem remains
The music will cut off before one loop, and the game will hang (usually) after grabbing the grand stars. If that's fine with you, then have fun.
Obviously It's not fine for me, because the fps problem remains, and your comments are not helpful.
@Davide90

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a demanding game, not even I have constant FPS all the time on my rig. I recommend you follow LinkToThePast's suggestions, if your still not getting full frames consistently it is due to the CPU which is getting a little outdated, based on your profile it is not an unclocked CPU so you would have had the ability to overclock your CPU for better performance. In this case stick with the latest dev. build as it has better speeds and the audio will not cut out like JMC47 stated. If your using 3.5 you will get stutters plus the audio will cut out forever, there's no way of helping the frames here even if your IR is set to the lowest setting possible. Besides we no longer support 3.5 so that's why is best to use the latest build. I've personnaly seen progress with this game, and back when I was using 3.5 or other builds the audio would immediately cut off but my frames were good, so I had to make a decision either music on or off, until I believe it was some 4.0-xxxx build that was a breakthrough in the audio and had good frames as well. I don't know which exact build off the top of my head right now, it's too many of them to look in there.

@JMC47: sarcasm on a new member will not get you anywhere =)
@Cyrax: I don't like explaining myself multiple times. I stated what would happen in 3.5 multiple times. I work with a lot of people, and when people start ignoring what I'm saying, then I do get frustrated. Regardless, what I said was uncalled for.

Davide90: I apologize for getting a little sarcastic, sorry. Asynchronous vs Synchronous audio is an annoying subject.

I don't know why you're struggling so much to get full speed though; my Core i5 3570K at 3.4 GHz was enough to get e through the game. Have you tried OpenGL with a low internal resolution + EFB2Texture with fast cache in the latest builds? BufferStorage should help a lot there.

I've tried with all that settings on the latest official dolphin build (4.0.2), but I'm always around 45 fps (even in the starting 2D style area).
I would like to avoid overclocking my cpu (the temperature is already high). It's really strange considering that a lot of people play the game with a decent fps ratio. Seems like I have to wait for the next dolphin build. Sad
Assuming you have windows 64-bit try the latest developer/development versions of dolphin

https://dolphin-emu.org/download/

these versions are much faster than the 4.0.2 official version my desktop (intel i5 3570 non k version) can run this game very well.

He was given the above advice a lot of times and he didn't followed it once till now it seems yet accused others of not being helpful in the process. Meh, seriously...
