Has anyone gotten the game to run smoothly with Hypatia's high res texture pack? It stutters for me at any resolution and I don't have enough RAM to prefetch the textures.
If you don't have enough RAM to prefetch the textures, I'm afraid you're SOL there.
You need a lot of RAM to prefetch the original pack. Try reducing the images so they use less memory and you may be able to fit them with 8GB of RAM.

Any idea how much is enough? I have 8GB and it couldn't prefetch with that, of course. And the mod author says she couldn't prefetch all of them with 24GB.
I used imagemagick and `find` to resize all images and reduce them to half their original size. Don't know how you could do that on Windows, though. I think there are tools which do just that on the forum, but I don't have the link.
I don't know if anybody is still playing this without a widescreen hack but the regular aspect ratio is broken for this game, there is no fixing in direct3d but in opengl I can set the resolution to a 4:3 ratio and stretch to window. Direct3d is faster performance-wise though.
Also the pictograph freezes the game when I take a picture.
Twilight princess works great though, with the new HLE sound, I can even go to Hyrule field on 2x resolution now, so why is this game not working? Could be just my iso? I have the US version and the second latest version of the development build at the time of this post and Windows 7. I haven't used Dolphin in a long time but I remember the aspect ration in WW worked correctly before.
What's wrong with the aspect ratio? Can you post a screenshot?
As for the pictograph, did you open the settings window while playing the game? If you did, the required settings got overridden. Either don't open the settings window while running the game, or set the required setting manually (I think it's Store EFB Copies to Texture Only disabled or Skip EFB Access from CPU disabled).

Thanks for the help!
I have 5:4 monitor with a native resolution of 1280x1024, with double GC native it should be 1280x960 and the monitor should have two black bars one on top and one on bottom of the screen. This is true on Twilight Princess but on WW the screen is full so the image is stretched (circles look like ovals). If you still want screenshots I'll try to post some.
About the pictograph, I have several .ini settings in My Documents from an old version of Dolphin, when updating do I have to delete them? Maybe something there messes with the EFB settings.
I never open any settings window when I have a game open so that's not it. I pressed Tab during testing to toggle the EFB but one setting shows no picture, the other freezes the game, this is true on both opengl and direct3d.

You normally don't need to delete anything in Documents when updating Dolphin, but if you manually put something strange in there, you might need to get rid of that. As a side note, you should delete the files in the Sys folder when updating, but I don't think keeping them will lead to the problem you're having.

At least TP works great.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, by working pictograph, do they mean that I can do the quests even if the pictures don't show? Or that the pictures show like normal? Maybe the freeze when I take the picture is hardware related.
I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the aspect ratio though, maybe it always was like that for me, I used direct3d9 last time I tried. I'll give Ishiiruka's build a try since it still has directx9 support.
