Specs:

Processor:MD Athlon(fm) II P340 Dual-Core Processor
Ram:3 gigs
Graphics Card/Adapter: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250

After very much tinkering, I'm at 30~ fps. One of the biggest changes to the framerate was setting the frameskipping to 2. At this point, the game manages to run at very close to full speed. It's definitely playable, but there is a slight lag very often. The most noticeable part of the problem aside from the slight framerate decrease is the sound, which somewhat dithers/cuts in and out, and sounds somewhat like warpy staticky. I'm 100% sure it can run faster on my laptop, it just needs a slight boost. A graphic setting, sound setting/plugin, etc, which I'm missing.

I'm not a computer expert, but when the game loads there are prompts in the corner which explain certain graphic enhancement features run by the emulator, are being overriden by the game itself. I also managed to find various sources which explain you can change the settings within the text document from "False" to "True", however, the contents within the text document on the newest version of Dolphin is different than the guides I could find. I'm sure this is still possible, but because it's a new version of the emulator and things have been improved on, the *method* to change these settings it is now different.

If anyone can lend a hand, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Thought I would update.

After a bit of tinkering, it runs okay. It doesn't run at 100% speed, around 70%, but the game is playable. Other games work smoother for me than others. It depends on the games graphical demand, but it's still pretty cool. Could be better, could be worse.

If anyone is having major troubles with emulation - it sometimes just takes some patience. Even with a PC which isn't "top of the line", you can still get things to run at a reasonable rate.

Hi all, I know there is a ton of info here and I did look through quite a bit of it.

I am currently at the Forsaken Fortress and when I go outside I get a ton of lag, the audio and video spits and sputters. When I go inside I do not get the same issue. I get some of the same issues with Twilight Princess.

I am on an Alienware laptop (I listed all the specs when I signed up on this forum a moment ago so I hope it will show).

Please let me know what settings you would like to know about, I will list some here:

Backend: Direct3D
Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
Full Screen: 1920x1080
Force 16:9

Internal: Native 640x528
AA: 2x MSAA
Antistropic: 1x

Everything else is pretty much stock.

Thanks for any help as I try to understand this program and the best ways to get games to work as they should, it is sure convenient as I travel a lot and spending 20 hours flying in a day is much more fun this way (and they wont let me bring my GC with me and hook it to a monitor in the plane....)
Excerpt from the wiki:
Sound problems may occur with the DSP HLE audio plugin. To correct these problems, use DSP LLE, but this may cause lag.

It also says this was fixed around 7500, but it's worth a try.

The problem is that "I get a ton of lag, the audio and video spits and sputters", in other words that the game isn't running at full speed. Using DSP LLE is just going to make it run even slower. Besides, they're using 4.0-8741, so the HLE audio problems are gone. DSP HLE is the best in this case.

Ya the fps when it runs ok is 30 when it gets bad the fps goes down to around 21 to 27. I have tried all of the audio settings. I have also played with quite a few other settings.

When I first load the fame it works good for a while, then after going in and out of doors and playing a while it starts giving me problems.

Some areas are so laggy it's almost unplayable, for instance in the first town where I bought the sails the band of kids just make it unbearable.

Disable AA, at native resolution it doesn't improve the graphics much anyways.
Hello, I am having a problem running zelda the wind waker. The movement is choppy, the audio is choppy, and it all starts in at the title screen. Is there anything I can do with my current equipment to fix this issue. Thanks everyone in advance!
Also any information on settings, I am ready and waiting to answer what all boxes I have checked. Disclaimer: I'm a noob at this stuff but I've caught on pretty quick with the current research I have done.
You can pretty much enable all speed hack with Wind Waker. But even then it might not run al that smooth on your hardware. (especially that Radeon HD 4350). If it can even run anything at full speed it will be at 1x IR. I still wouldnt get my hopes up though but it might be worth a shot with these settings (if it isnt listed here just leave it at default):

Graphics
General
Backend: OpenGL (Try Direct3D aswell (will reset the settings so check them again). Some people have had better experience with that backend)
Fullscreen Resolution: Auto.

Enhancements
Internal Resolution: Native
Anti-Aliasing: None
Anisotropic Filtering: 1x
Post-Processing Effect: (off)

Hacks
Skip EFB Access from CPU: Checked
Ignore Format Changes: Checked
Store EFB Copies to Texture Only: Checked
Texture Cache Accuracy: Fast
External Frame Buffer: Disable
Fast Depth Calculation: Checked (uncheck this one if you are bothered by flickering waves. I only have this issue when using Direct3D).
Disable Bounding Box: Checked

Config
Audio
DSP Emulator Engine: DSP HLE emulation
Audio Backend: XAudio2

Also make sure the game is using your dedicated GPU. Considering you're using a laptop does it ofter default to the IGPU on the CPU. If you dont know what Dolphin is using then set the backend to Direct3D and look at what it says under adapter. If it says something with HD 4350 you should be fine.
