(11-20-2015, 06:13 PM)mstreurman Wrote: [ -> ]Since the latest build I used (yesterday) 4.0-8189 it seems that this game started skipping frames on my laptop. It is very visible in the title screen where the boat comes in. I'm running the PAL version of the game with 60Hz selected at startup. All settings are left on default (I deleted the full Dolphin directory from my hard drive and from my users folder) I changed the following: Graphic backend to OpenGL(haven't tried D3D), DSP LLE Recompiler using my own ripped files as well as the PAL bios from my Gamecube. The MD5 hash is the same as others I find of the internet. The FPS stays stable at 30 but it still seems to skip frames internally. The ISO is use is compressed using a recent dolphin build (I don't remember which one)

The specs to my machine are in my profile (Core i7 4800MQ, GeForce GTX870m 6GB, 16GB RAM), most of my games run at perfect speed, with a small hitch in some games every now and then.

DSP HLE Emulation should be enough for this game. It even got a another update that fixes almost all other problems that the old DSP HLE had. So basicly a free Speed boost.

Did you look at the Framelimit setting? It should be set to Auto. It is located under Config->General.
Also, in windowed and borderless Fullscreen, frames also might be dropped. So for the best expirence, deactivate "Borderless Fullscreen" in Graphics->Advanced and play in Fullscreen. (ALT+Enter or in the Graphics->General the checkbox "Use Fullscreen" or the button "FullScr" in the main window)

It used to be working perfectly with these settings... now it doesn't... VPS60, FPS30 etc... no problem whatsoever, now the VPS=60, FPS=30 but the boat at the intro and flying around the island is just skipping, skipping, skipping... no slowdowns in VPS or FPS at all... so I doubt that this is the problem... If you carefully read my post you would've read that I changed nothing except the Graphic backend to OGL and DSP to LLE Recompiler (on OpenAL backend which I forgot to mention) with original firmware files. It is a clean install of Dolphin-emu, so there were no registry settings, no directories in my Userprofile and the old Dolphin x64 directory has been deleted.

Just to be sure: Everything is as it is supposed to be, all other games work flawlessly it is just Wind Waker giving me shit now...

Disclaimer: Sorry if I appear to be a jerk, I'm not... I'm an IT-guy used to dealing with Resolver groups that don't read tickets and come with the most stupid answers you can imagine (e.g. My Physical printer connected to my computer doesn't work, the toner is empty -> Resolver group: Did you try a windows profile reset? *face palm*)
i realize this must have been answered somewhere along the line of this 91 page thread but o.o; im too lazy to read through 91 pages just to see if this was ever answered or not. it seems that whenever i look at lightbugs, such as those in the main room of the cave found on chu-chu island (the island directly between windfall and dragon roost) my game drops from its normal 60+ fps to about 25 fps. also as an unrelated issue it seems when i take a picture using the picto-box the game drops to 2 fps for several seconds while it does the animation to take a picture and then returns to normal framerates. neither of these are obviously game breaking issues, im just wondering if there may be a fix. it is a habit of mine to keep my settings at default unless im told i should change them. im currently using the 4.0.2 version of dolphin.

There's your problem. 4.0.2 has several issues and features that have been updated/fixed in the development builds, so it would be best to use a development build instead.
any particular one you would suggest? it seems that with -8174 and -8280 i get a sort of ... not sure what to call it... "screen tearing" maybe? whenever the camera moves a part of the graphics on screen will randomly lag, then catch up leaving odd trees where a piece of the trunk is floating in the air for half a second before catching up to the actual tree. exact locations of where this occurs on screen appear random. =w=; again not sure what you would call this. if you have suggestions for what settings i should use please offer them. but for right now 4.0.2 seems to be working decently well. minus the 2 hiccups ive so far mentioned in my last post... and a slightly weird mirage styled ripple on all the graphics at the cave entrance to the dragon roost dungeon (havent gone past this room yet). (EDIT: Fixed*) if you know any particular settings i should set my game to to fix these that would be great =)
Hello Guys..

Im not sure if im at the right place to ask this question but:

I downloaded Hypatias Texture Pack for Windwaker (im using the European version).

I copied it into the right folder (documents/dolphin/load/textures/Windwaker Game ID)

I also enabled load costum textures in the Dolphin settings.

After all this, its still not loading the Hires Textures...

Did i do something wrong?

Like the download page says at the top, you need to install this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
hi ^_^ me again ^_^ it seems the culprit of all of my problems were cheat engine and adventure capatilist XD who knew running it at 500x speed using cheat engine would hurt my performance as badly as it seems to have done xD. still noticing a half second hang when i take pictures but im guessing thats because dolphin is accessiong my ram or something like that x)

moral of the story: dont run speedhacks on idle games when you intend to play something completely different xD
