Hmm, reading the main post, the issue seems to still be there. But things are different. By default, the emulator sets the DSP to LLE. And this time, the emulator came with it's own LLE DSP, which I replaced with my own.
I'm wondering if I should use my own dumped DSP, or the one included with Dolphin.

As for the performance with LLE, the game seems to run fine, even while sailing. It did slow down when I was fighting a ton of enemies at once. And the audio seems to be out of place. At least the game is playable on LLE, so I wouldn't have to switch back and forth between HLE and LLE like before.

Should I only use LLE for Zelda The Wind Waker? Or is it recommended for other games? Other games run perfect in HLE, with no freezing problems like Zelda has.

Thanks for the reply btw
I played roughly 80% of the game already, all using HLE: no async issues (happened with LLE), occasional audio glitches (mainly short sound effects such as the magic bar related sounds are a bit too high pitched or stutter slightly), smooth sailing and fighting enemies guaranteed Big Grin

Also I had no crashes whatsoever (be it caused by HLE or anything else) yet.

I don't like the enforcing settings like that. Okay, its the most compatible and stable, but not the fastest. Some might appreciate something inbetween without bothering with the ini files directly^^

Well it's a rare occurrence, it only happened to me once. You could try overriding the setting if you have speed issues, and it will stay even if you upgrade your dolphin version. Just right click the game, go to properties and make the dsp hle option have a tick by clicking on it. I think the setting should stay though for those who have no speed problems and no idea about the issue involved and how to solve it either. People who can run it fine only increase as time goes by, it would be backwards to remove it and quite easy to change it for anyone who doesn't want it.
Hi guys, in case any of you is interested, I'm sharing the final version of the SweetFX preset I created for this beautiful game (the first I've ever done). I tried to keep the feeling of the original game while, at the same time, making it better looking. Hope you guys like it.

Thanks for sharing this, I'll give it a try. But how exactly does this work? Do I just extract it to the location of the exe file for dolphin?

Edit: Never mind it does go in the main dolphin directory along with the EXE. Works great, but it looks too bright. The item menu for example, you can notice that it's really bright. It only looks good when sailing the ocean or in a dungeon. I'll continue using this though since it's better than the original look. Thanks again for sharing this.

@Oehr's post, I tried using HLE, and got to the file menu. But as soon as I loaded my save file, nothing happened after. It used to work on HLE back then, this is strange.

Hi Guys, I like to think that I'm using a fast computer.

It's a Intel Core i7 2700k (Quad-Core) clocked at 3.5Ghz
It has 16GB of DDR3-1033 Ram
Dolphin and the Rom are both installed on an Intel SSD
1GB Nvidia GTX560 Ti Hawk Edition

But I'm noticing a bit of lag when I'm fighting in the first forest area above the island. I've barely started the game. I just want to see if I'm using the correct settings. I have screenshots attached. Help appreciated Smile

Sometimes on the first run shader files are being generated that cause a lag (see mario kart wii for example during stage loading). If you repeat the same scene and it lags again that means that your pc is having trouble with the game.

actually, thats to be expected: LLE slows down the game greatly (i have a 2600K @ 4.8GHz and am affected by this).
So to "fix" this, you

- either have to switch to HLE by removing the setting enforced by Sys/GameSettings/GZLX01.ini (X being the region youre playing. E = US, J = JAP, P = EU):
DSPHLE = False <- remove this line!
and select HLE for audio. You might get some occasional sound errors (few and mainly affect menus or the magic bar).

- or try gaining performance elsewhere:

SSAA is A HUGE SLOWDOWN for nearly every computer. You might
wanna disable that and instead increase the internal resolution to 4x or
something like that! Though lowering internal resolution is also a speedup at the expense of eyecandy.

other than that, there isnt really a setting that can break or greatly slow down the game EXCEPT the following:
Copy to RAM is required for taking pictures and other stuff. EFB Access from CPU too. Both are already correctly enforced by the ini I told you to edit.

Other than that, play around with the settings: whatever works fastest for you!

You may enable the following, but the gain (if any) should be minimal:
RAM Cache
Cache Display List
OpenMP decoder

If you still want AA, try using SweetFX (only works with 32bit dolphin though!). The "fake" AA called SMAA works wonders IMO! google for it and the nice configuration utility SweetFX Configurator. Pretty straight forward

nuff said, off to bed!

Just wanted to add that SweetFX can also be used with 64 bit dolphin: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4667136&postcount=88 That's the same I added inside my SweetFX preset above.
@Windwakernewbie,

I agree with Link_to_the_past on removing the AA. It can slow down your experience significantly.

I disagree with Oehr though. I have a 2500K at 4.5 (currently) and have zero slow downs with WW using LLE...never have actually so I am not quite sure what he/she is referring to.

Overview though, try 3x IR and disable AA and see if that bit of lag disappears Smile

'Hoy!
First post! I'm wondering if it's possible to edit save files
in Dolphin. I know this might seem superficial but I'd like to change
the name of my save file (from my name to 'Link'). Is this possible?

Thanks!
