I am trying to run Wind Waker but I have some problem with textures. They are flickering... Any idea how I could fix that ?
All settings are default. I am using Dolphin 5.0 on Linux with OpenGL video backend.
Thanks for your help
Have you tried the latest development version?

I just compiled the lastest dev version. Not sure if it is better or not. I do not have flickering anymore, but still have problem with textures.
EDIT : I installed vulkan libs so I can use the vulkan backend and it works like a charm !
Does the game currently have some problems not noted on the Wiki page?
Tried to optimize for a friend on the newest 5.0-8512 build and found out that both the Widescreen AR Codes (strange flickering and switching between 4:3 and 16:9) as well as DX11 (bad performance, sometimes drops below 15 fps) cause problems that were not present in releases close after 5.0.
Deactivating the AR Codes and using OpenGL resolved those issues and resulted into "smooth" 30 FPS gameplay.
We need your friend´s PC specs. This game uses two particularly taxing options (CPU to EFB Access and EFB to Texture+RAM).
Since I do have the game will test that nonetheless.
Oh boy... a 4th gen i7 CPU as well as a R9 290X with 8 GB RAM - should be plenty enough I think.
Although I gotta update that OpenGL was not the solution, it just took longer for the game to drop in performance.
I'm also gonna do some testings the next days on my own rig to see if there might be a driver problem or something on his side we haven't found yet, since he has my exact Dolphin config and I never had problems with WW.
I tested the game. While I did have drops (actually due to my now old and unsupported GPU), I did not have flickering with the Widescreen code. I used the Gecko one though.
Tell him to use it as a Gecko code instead to see if the flickering still goes on.
theres also a patch for widescreen for wind waker with some better support
I did some testing myself yesterday - first of all, the WS Gecko code works like a charm indeed.
I also had a pretty fluent and overall stable framrate at around 30 fps, but every once in a while got some weird lags where the framrate rose to around 32 fps (?!) and the game stuttered for a second - be it in intense and more demanding fights or just doing a barrel roll in an empty room.
Playing at 4xIR, no AA/AF, default settings with every suggested option for the game activated. Reducing the IR didn't resolve those lags.
i5-3570k @ 4,5 GHz
GTX 1070
8 GB RAM
Any advice for WS Gecko code causing massive stuttering in game? I’ve isolated it to the widescreen code as when I have it in 1080p render in 4:3 the stuttering goes away. Would like to play it in widescreen if possible.
PC specs:
Latest dolphin dev build
i5 4690k 4.2 GHz
GTX 1070 Overclocked
8 GB DDR3 Ram at 1600 mhz
I believe gecko codes are currently broken as they cause stuttering in some games.
