As promised: After testing some more and avoiding any other stuff which could possibly interferewith Dolphin, i now can play DKCR with latest nightlies + ubershaders hybrid without problems/crashes.

Besides what feels like typical shader stutter, most of the time it runs at absolutely smooth 60fps.

Question remains:

Is it known that DKCR feels like it can't really benefit from ubershaders? I mean ubershaders in Mario Kart result in almost no shader stutter at all - insanely good.
DKCR doesn't really feel like it's using ubershaders although Dolphin it configured for it.

Thanks!

When I start this game, it doesn't run very well, until I open any of the graphic or overall configurations, and then it runs like a dreaml! I assume as that is because something resets on opening the configs as it warns on startup, but in my case it's for the better. How can I set it up so I don't have to do this every time to get a smooth running game?!

That's correct.

What I would recommend doing for this specific game is to download the newest development version of Dolphin, since newer versions no longer need slow depth emulation for this game and no longer enable it automatically, so you'll get speed improvements without the graphics problems you would get from opening the graphics configuration in 5.0. It is also possible to make a custom per-game INI so that the pre-defined per-game settings won't be used, giving the same effect as opening the graphics configuration in 5.0, but please try updating Dolphin first.

Hello, thanks for the reply...

I have the latest stable version 5.0?

Is it possible that there may be an existing game INI that is messing it up, and when I go to the configurations it's disregarding it?? Where would I find that?

Yes, that's the latest stable version. I'm suggesting that you try the latest development version instead.

It's possible that you've made a custom game INI that's messing things up, but what's more likely is that the pre-defined INI is making the game less messed up (but at the expense of performance). Either way, if you open the configuration, the INI settings get disregarded.

If you want to edit your custom game INI (which has the ability to override the default INI), right-click on the game in Dolphin's game list, pick Properties, then press the Edit Config button at the bottom of the new window. Please don't edit the default INI directly, otherwise it'll get messed up if you update Dolphin in the future. The syntax is described at https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-howto-using-gameini-settings-per-game

But like I said before, the latest development version is worth trying first.

Mooey!

Thank you for your time, I shall do that when I get home.
running the latest development release will also fix the problem of games running differently when you open the graphics config

I've been playing this perfectly up until very recently - somewhere along the lines, connecting the second wiimote instantly freezes DK:C as soon as it's connected.

This only occurs on Linux, it's fine in Windows. Anyone got any ideas on how to narrow down this issue?
This has the worst stutter I've encountered yet in Dolphin, and the shader options make absolutely no difference (Ubershader, synchronous, asynchronous, skip drawing - DOESN'T MATTER), I get obvious shader stutter (when DK makes contact with a new surface for instance).

Are you using any Gecko codes?
