I don't think my cpu being slow is causing this abnormal slowdown after a period of time .. I have no problems maxing anything

again using minimal settings here..
Quote:I have no problems maxing anything
Because you have an excellent GPU
Please note that Dolphin uses 2 cores + 1 core (if "LLE on threads" is enabled)
Zelda SS need an i3/i5/i7 @ 3.0GHz or more

Your CPU is throttling to avoid overheating. Overclocking might help
Thanks for all the help guys I'll try to get some thermal paste get my temps down and try again next week it must be something with my temps / setup as nobody else seems to be having this problem. Thanks again.

def can't oc right now if i'm throttling xD
well....it is the CPU overheating. when i use dolphin emulator on my Intel i5 laptop it works perfectly with 60fps. but the problems only start when the CPU starts overheating. when i first experienced CPU was overheating the FPS (frames per second) would drop and would not stay steady. so i bought the thermaltake massive 23 lx laptop cooler and it did improve performance on my laptop and it also made the Dolphin Emulator Run better. so far i have had no issues.

So My Guess Is Maybe The CPU is Not Cooled Properly (or CPU is overheating)

SPECS:

Intel core i5 2430m 2.4ghz with turbo-boast up to 3.0ghz
Intel HD GRAPHICS 3000
15.6 inch led lcd screen
6gb ram
1tb hard drive

AND MAKE SURE YOU USE THE NEWEST VERSION Smile
Quote:it did improve performance on my laptop
By reducing only 2-3 degrees celsius
Notebook cooler keep your laptop running cool on the surface rather than actually improving temps inside (CPU - GPU)
Your laptop doesn't have a dedicated GPU , you shouldn't worry about overheating unless the thermal compound was dead

Depending on the game . I doubt you can have 60FPS with demanding games
It seems all of you guys were right, i had cpu throttling enabled and my cpu is overheating, which is not strange at all bunch of dust in my case and all of that. I disabled cpu throttling and because the cpu clock isn't downclocking all the time because of the heat the game seems to play fine now. Cpu running hot but i can play xD hope this helps anyone in the future with similar symptons.
Just take off the CPU heatsink and reapply thermal compound on the CPU , it's not too hard you know (search "how to apply thermal compound" via youtube )
Oh I know how to do it I build my own PCs I just don't have any or any means of getting some right now ^^
(I will notice some games slowing down as I play them, but closing Dolphin and reopening it fixes that. It's not a heating issue but I don't want to jynx it/don't want to interrupt.)
