I just recently got a new sd card so I thought I'd give cleanrip in homebrew channel a try.
I was able to rip SSBM and Wind Waker, and they worked perfectly. However, my primary goal was to play Skyward Sword. I've tried ripping it in chunks, setting dual layer to on/off, but nothing's working. I just boot to a black screen when I open the Skyward Sword iso. I was able to rip brawl as well, but i get a white screen instead. I've searched around the forum and googled, but i can't find anyone with the same problem as me.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

(using 3.0, if that helps.)
Your loading error definitely sounds like a bad dump, so you're right on there.

For all of my games (including SS) I used a FAT32 32 GB flash drive as the dump target. That meant I wouldn't have to worry about swapping out drives or SD cards. The FAT32 drive support in Cleanrip works very well and IMO is better than using an SD card. SS is a single layer game, so leave dual layer off. Set the chunk size to 4 GB as well, as Max tended to have issues when I used it.
Check to see that your dumps were good. Google around for a tool that can generate MD5 hashes for file (there are plenty of free options. Once you have the hash for your games, compare them against hashes from verified, working copies, such as those posted on Redump.org (you might have to check their forum for Wii games). Be sure that you're looking at the MD5 hashes for your specific region as well, as this can make a difference. If the hashes match, your dumps are fine, and the issue lies somewhere else. If they don't, you'll need to keep dumping the games until they do match up. SSBB is a dual-layer disc, but Skyward Sword should be single layer.
As for checking hashes I recommend HashCalc by Slavasoft, have been using it for as long as I can remember too check things and it generates both SHA1, MD5 and CRC32 and many other.

thanks for the reply, but I still have a question.
When you ripped your game in chunks, how did you combine them? The max chunk size for sd in cleanrip is 3gb for whatever reason. I can't seem to find any way to combine them.

EDIT: I just checked the md5 hash of my rip, and it all checks out fine, but i'm still getting a black screen when I launch the game??
Use the "copy" command on the command line like so to combine multiple files:

Code:
copy /b chunk_file_1 + chunk_file_2 + chunk_file_3 my_game.iso

Replace the chunk_file parts with the path to your ripped chunks, wherever they are on your computer. The output will be whatever you name as the final argument in the command, e.g. my_game.iso in the above example.

Which game are you talking about when you said the hash matched up but still gave you a black screen? If you haven't combined the parts for SSBB yet, then there's no way the hash should match, so I assume you're talking about Skyward Sword since it's a single-layer disc. What was the MD5 hash you got? Also, what do your Dolphin settings look like?

Take time to redump your game EVEN if it looks good. There's no reason this game doesn't work with Dolphin 3.0

That's because FAT32 only supports files up to 4GB
I never had problems with "chunk size MAX". Just use a NTFS formatted USB stick ^^
I didnt know those existed. Thanks.
